So if I got an arcade version for 199.99 and then maybe just a 20gb harddrive for it will it play original xbox games? like halo 1 and 2 those are all I worry about. Or would it just be cheaper to go with the primium 60 gb?

If It is a better idea to just add a Hard Drive can you get a 20 gb for pretty cheap at best buy? or do you have to order it over the net?

The arcade is also backwards compatible. It says on the box you won't be able to play original xbox games because you need the HDD to save. If you get and arcade and an HDD is the same xbox as the one you get in the premium package (of course, you won't get the hd cables, or the mic).

The only difference is that the arcade doesn't have a hard drive. The Elite is the same system, different color. I played Halo 2 on my 360 but I never tried Halo 1. Microsoft has a list of all xbox games that should play on your 360. I just bought a arcade 360 and just put in my 20 GB hard drive. Works great.

Every Xbox 360 is backwards compatible. So no worries there.

And get whatever is cheaper...either the Arcade with an HDD of your choice, or the Pro bundle, which has the 60GB included, and two games at the moment.

The Pro bundle is the best bang for your buck at this point. You'll get a headset, and an HDD, and two games (Lego Indy Jones and Kung Fu Panda) which you woudn't get with the Arcade model. Buying those seperate if you buy an Arcade model, will put you over the price of the Pro.

It's kind of a no brainer...

Pro Bundle ftw

the pro bundle is your best bet, you get the two free games and most stores give additional games around holidays. Kung Fu Panday + Lego Indiana Jones you also get

best buy gives ya Assassins Creed and Viva Pinata

Future Shop gives ya GUN, Stanglehold and Dark Sector

i also saw a bundle with gears2 and another with rainbow six vegas 2 but i cant find them anymore

You might as well just get the pro/premium if you're going to get a hard drive anyway.

I know with the arcade if you dont have enough space for the new xbox experience thing you can put in the console id and serial code and you can get a 20GB HDD for $20 im not sure if that is still going on tho
