i remember playing mario kart and mario party on n64 and gamecube in my not to long ago past, with great memories.

for some reason not a ton of 360 games have delivered in such a way, except halo 3. its not that its great, its just that everyone knows how to play and its just fun everytime you pick it up after a long time! nba games have also been fun, infact, but its not that different every year for obvious reaasons.

what offline multiplayer games / splitscreen have you had alot of fun with on the 360.. prefferably not halo 3

Resident evil 5 - great teamwork type gameplay

Kameo - just generally fun to play co-op

I agree with halo 3 being fun too

splitscreen co-op is one of the best ways to play a game. I also enjoy online co-op, but its not quite as fun because there isn't someone else in the room sharing the experiences. It isn't the same just using a microphone really.

Since this is a Xbox 360 forum I will say Perfect Dark Zero, Halo 3, Unreal Tournament 3.

Resident Evil 5 was great. Played it three times through with my roommate so that we could upgrade our weapons as much as possible and eventually get unlimited sniper ammo to pull off serious headshots.

I also enjoyed playing Rock Band 2 a lot if you want to consider that split screen.

Perfect Dark Zero was also a good split screen game

Resident Evil 5 was made for co-operative gameplay. Also, me and my friend played some Perfect Dark Zero split-screen. The only fun thing about that game. And yeah, the Halo games have some fun splitscreen.

Not really "split-screen" but for local co-op Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a blast for me and my friends for a long amount of time, doing multiple playthroughs just to level up our characters and unlock more costumes and things like that.

I honestly have had a lot of fun playing split screen Dynasty Warriors because my friends and I would get really into it and strategize and figure out where we needed to go and clear out.

Halo LAN parties back in high school. We usually had 5-6 regular sized tvs, however, every now and then someone would have to play on the tv in the kitchen, which was tiny, maybe 5-7in. Only had to do that once, the tv sucked, but the weekends were awesome

My friends and I used to have our own little video game tournaments we called the Ramen Noodle Cup. We'd get a bunch of TV's together and play a bunch of games spanning several genres. We made a pot of over 20 packets of Ramen Noodles one time. My friend's mom where we would host it would always make tons of food (she was Portugese and loved to cook) so we would gorge ourselves and play games. The winner (based on a points system) would get some sort of prize. Nostalgia is great.

I remember countless hours of Golden Eye 64 and Mario Kart 64 battle mode with friends. I remember one friend saying "We are almost 16, we should be talking about girls and cars." Then we were like "No." and went back to gaming. XD

There's something to be said for the instant and personal feedback you get when playing local multiplayer. I wish more GOOD games (a la Ultimate Allicance 2) would have 4 player local co-op. It's great to be able to mess with your friends or groan when they switch characters 8 times in one level or striking them about the head and neck region when they get the team killed.

It has offline and online splitscreen with only one other person though. I haven't really played ANY slitscreen on the Xbox 360 but I enjoyed the previous Halo games so I would more than likely enjoy Halo 3 as well.

Just to clarify, you can splitscreen and then go online like you could in Halo 3? That could make for tons of fun.

Correct. You and your girlfriend can be playing two of the characters splitscreen, while playing online with a couple of your Xbox Live friends.

Best memories were when I was little playing Super Smash Bros. on the N64 with all my school pals. Most recently, though, the Zombie levels of CoD: World at War have been absolute dynamite!

We made a pot of over 20 packets of Ramen Noodles one time. The winner (based on a points system) would get some sort of prize. Nostalgia is great.

Dude that sounds friggin awesome!! I used to do something similar too back in the day. Every year on my brazilian buddy's bday a group of about 14 guys would go to his place, and we would do epic LAN parties, play counter strike and warcraft 3 a $hitload We would also hook up a bunch of xboxs onto tvs and play halo, as well as have a gamecube for smash bros, a dreamcast for marvel vs capcom 2 and for powerstone 2. Apart from this we would have Magic the Gathering duels going on all the time, So the best thing was that if you got bored from whatever you were doing you could just swap to one of the other many options. His mom was also brazilian and she cooked for us and we feasted on the stuff like pigs, this or she would order us like 6 large pizzas hehe.

And the best thing about it was that it wasn't just one day, he invited us after school on friday and we got to stay at his place all the weekend till our parents picked us up on sunday. We were all like 13-15 years old and we had such a fun time. Its one of the happiest memories of my life :D Oh and my brazilian friend had a HOT older sister (17) who we all used to stare at during thw whole weekend and we were all secretly in love with hahahaha. Good times.

That sounds really similar to what we had going on. We'd play Halo and a lot of Smash Brothers and stuff like that. Then we'd throw in random games too and let people make submissions. People's girlfriends would come and either play or we'd throw on some movies for them so they weren't totally bored while we were geeking out. I don't know what it is about Portugese speaking people (Portugal and Brazil) but they LOVE to eat (not trying to be offensive, just noticing a trend). My friend's mom would either cook a ton of food or like you said, order ridiculous numbers of pizzas. I wish I wasn't all grown up now and could do things like this still.

Hahaha yeah I know what you're talking about man, I wish I was young like that again too :P. Great times really, and yes I was also pretty surprised by the fact that you mentioned your friend's mom was portugese! They really do love their eating!! It was great times and yeah we also used to rent movies as well to split the gaming into chunks. All in all its been a while since Ive had that much fun, and while yes, it sucks we can't really have anything exactly like that again, I'm excited im meeting up with most of my teenage friends next year, we are all doing a reunion in Norway, and im sure they won't disagree when I propose we have some sort of "for old times sake" party ;)

Ahh and to think I never believed my mom as a kid when she told me I would miss being a kid once I grew up. hahahaha. Glad someone on these forums has all this in common with me :D

Not all of them split screen, but all local co-op:

Xbox360 - Gears Of War 2, Resident Evil 5, Castle Crashers, Left 4 Dead, Lego Star Wars

Xbox - Crimson Skies

PS2 - Timesplitters 2, Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance

Halo LAN parties back in high school. We usually had 5-6 regular sized tvs, however, every now and then someone would have to play on the tv in the kitchen, which was tiny, maybe 5-7in. Only had to do that once, the tv sucked, but the weekends were awesome

playing HALO:CE split screen/system linked in the same place with your buds were the best times I ever had in gaming.

this but the only difference is that it was halo2. I had a lot of fun as well in haloCE, halo3, gears1/2, nfsu1/2..midtown madness lol i liked the game

I've had a lot of fun playing Left 4 Dead with my girlfriend lately.

craigalan23
Does that game have split screen? I haven't played anything but the demo for that game but that could be fun for my girlfriend and I.

It has offline and online splitscreen with only one other person though. I haven't really played ANY slitscreen on the Xbox 360 but I enjoyed the previous Halo games so I would more than likely enjoy Halo 3 as well.

I gotta get L4D.

Same here. I'm not at all sure why I've waited this long to do that.

'Cause it's cheaper now. Look at you, smart shopper.
