I was just wondering what you can be reset for on Xbox Live? Can you be reset for getting Achievements on some games, and you got them through using a glitch? I thought all Microsoft care about is as long as your not hacking your Achievements or modding your Achievements then your fine (as long as you didn't get them through hacking or modding means). What do you guys think?x-xSnakex-x
If they know you modded your console, they'll ban it... and if you mod your gamerscore they'll just reset it

They don't only set your GS back to 0 but label you as a cheater (you cannot get rid of this label w/out creating a new GamerTag) and you also can not unlock achievements you earned before you were reset, again. Also, they will ban a console for multiple infractions ie. you keep creating new GT and modding the GS and getting caught. There are more ways to get your console banned than just those two ways, but those are the most common.

I'm not really sure what your asking. If Microsoft sees you cheated or exploited a game for achievements, they'll reset all your achievements to 0.

Here's the bottom line, you cheat you steal you'll get caught and you'll either be reset or banned

I'm asking what you can be reset for? Can you be reset for using a glitch to get an achievement? no,,,wel it depends but if its just a little glitch inherent to the game that the devs missed or something (red ded redemption is full of these for example) then no you wont get reset for it. You can only really be reset if you do something to modify it, for example hacking the console to up the score artificially or downloading saves off the net and sticking them in the console to get them. But if its a glitch thats in the game and you havent modified anything then youre generally fineWhagt about teaming up with others to get online achievements for games that don't have anyone playing anymore. Like dark sector, fuzion frenzy, ect?

nope won't get reset for that, many people i know do that all the time.

That doesn't sound like cheating. If you earn achievements in a game in ways that it wasn't designed to work, it could be considered an exploit; ie abusing a glitch in a game, corrupting a file save, or otherwise modifying the game. Getting friends to login and boost your score online isn't considered cheating because you aren't manipulating the game itself.

It seems to be more based on how much the developers care. Back in Gears of War 2's early days if you were caught boosting they'd reset your gamerscore in Gears 2. But more recently they don't seem to care. I heard that part the reason they've been doing the crazy EXP bonus weekends recently is to get everyone to get the boosting out of their system so it wont be a prevalent for those who continue to play after Gears 3 comes out. Same for Halo 3, I remember hearing of people getting temporary matchmaking bans for boosting. Now not so much. I'd say it's safe to say you're more likely to get in trouble if the game is new, very popular and supported by the developer. Please Log In to post.
