It's related to the epoxy that holds the mobo down, which ends up failing, and transistors end up popping right off the board. It's a shame, becuase it could be prevented very easily. The 1up yours podcast talked about this a few weeks ago, and according to them, Garrot I think(Not Shane for sure), they've had a high percent of their 360's in the office at Ziff Davis red ring on them. Obviously that's a string of bad luck,  But who knows. MS won't admit the true failure rate, and it's hard finding an opinion that's not biased, except for people that have experienced a red ring.

It has nothing to do with what country you are in.  Its just that 65% of all 360's sold are sold in the US.  So of course you will hear more stories from US owners.

ive had to send my console off twice in the past 3 weeks, then customer support tell me its a power supply problem. ive been waiting a week for them to return it, in the meantime im sent out cables, so now i have two sets of all the cables for some reason. they also didnt return my game that was in the drive so im really pissed off at ms right now.

i guess you guys get the worst of the worst (USA). You get the luxury of 65% of consoles going to you guys, but also the hardship of dealing with the fact that you have the majority of faulty 360's.........................:?

Mine went retarded on me and so did another UK players on my XBL gamer list. I sent mine there and I got it back.... still broken. After numerous calls they wanted me to send it in again, so I rode it up there myself and they sent it back still broken. But the store warenty had run out so I couldn't take it up with them, so I ended it up buying a new one and taking the old one back to the store on the new ones reciept and getting a full refund.

I'm living in Canada. And I got mine from Wal-Mart, so if I get problems... I'll just exchange it.

Love the avatar!!! Boom!! Headshot!!

Anyway, it's nice to know that MS has extended the warranty in the US, as it's a law to have a minmum of one year in most other countries.

Nicaragua. For those out there that don't know where it is... it's in Central America. No problems so far with it. I've had it for 5 months.

I live in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Microsoft "officially" distributed their $489.40 console here last April 26 and sadly one of the kiosks that were set up last week at Carrefour died down. I still don't know how huge the defective unit rate is here but I hope it's very small. This is making me skeptical about buying any of the 3 consoles this gen since one has a life expectancy of a couple of hours to a couple of months, one has the right peripherals in the wrong hardware, and one is a blu-ray ****rider in game console clothing.
