I just pre ordered NFS shift, wet, and marvel ultimate alliance. Paid in full! very excited for the release. I was wondering what, if anything that NFS shift does to make it good competition? Thanks in advance! can't wait to play!

well from what ive heard its supposed to be like Forza but with arcade like controls, a little lighter on the simulation side. Also the cars are easier to buy because you make money much faster in career mode.

Need for Speed is more arcady, and money comes around real easy, letting you buys every car in the game early on.

I preordered too, I'm not expecting it to be better than forza or gt sim wise, but the cockpit view looks amazing and immersing. Should be a fun game

The big difference is Forza 3 is worth buying. There are going to be a lot more cars to choose from in Forza 3.
EA have just being going downhill with the NFS franchise.

I think they are making the videos for NFS shift look really cool but I think it's going to be the same old crappy NFS game that were use to. This was one of the best gaming franchises ( NFS ) and they flushed it down the toilet. I hope I'm wrong because I loved NFS games. Time will only tell, huh?

Differences?

- Shift is supposed to have a bit more 'visceral' feeling to the racing. Sense of speed is very good, and the racing feels hectic, like it should.

- Shift's cockpit view(the view you should be playing in to make the most of that 'visceral' feeling) is a bit more lively and has shift animations.

- Shift has Spa-Francorchamps!

- Shift will have 12 cars on track(pretty sure its 12)

I think these are the biggest things that Shift will have over Forza 3. Dont listen to the people that say Shift will be a bad game or something, cuz that doesn't look like the case at all. Its been getting praise by anybody who gets a chance to actually play it. Just cuz it wont stack up to Forza 3 in many aspects doesn't mean it isn't worth getting.

Well considering that even games like Forza and GT aren't even hardcore sims, I'd say that anything that falls below these two games in terms of physics is pushing into the 'arcade' territory. Thats just how I see it, though. Somebody who's used to playing arcade racers might see it differently.

It's more arcade-based than simulation. However, the initial reviews are very promising, it's a big leap in the right direction for the franchise that's been going downhill lately.

another difference is the customizations. F3 will have a greater amount of options from visual to car performance.
