So what would you actually like to see? Don't think of the rumors now

I just want good games. Seriously, that's all. :) During Xbox era, next gen was a big step but I don't expect the same leap from 360 to 720.
Ardazu
Nobody should expect the same leap, and if they do they'll be dissapointed.
More IPs, Blu-Ray integration, and a more game related interface. That's all I want, GOD that's all I want.
Good games. I dont care about any of the social aspects of it.

Edit- Also, if I have to be always online just to play it, then Im just going to go with the Playstation 4. At the moment, I plan on buying both of them sooner or later, but if I cant even play single player if Im not online, then I'll just go with the Playstation. My wife and I are going to get our own appt soon, so we probably wont have enough money for the internet right away.
This is what I'm expecting based off of the rumors so far. It will run a stripped down version of windows 8 or a shell of windows 8. The machine is going to be application and media based. Lots of apps like with their new metro app store, as well as a very high emphasis on media like apps for sports television and movies more so then it is now. I feel advertisements on the dash or what ever UI they use are here to stay and there will be more off them.  Kinect is going to be a forced camera so I'm expecting it to control the UI all together and you not use the controller at all for that part of the experience. Will you be able to use the controller? Yes I think so but why build in kinect if your not forcing people to use it? It will be close to the power of the ps4 will it be stronger? I doubt it since the casual market seems to be the way they want to take things so why would they need the extra power? Games will be tied to your account through activation's codes and you'll need to purchase one if you buy a game used.Â
Social media is also going to be a very large part of this console. I feel they are going to partner up with facebook and twitter making it an integral part of the system will it be forced I doubt it but it will be a large part of their marketing campaign. Then I get to live. I'm expecting a cable like payment plan where you make regular payments for the system and online till it's payed off. That will be an option not forced on everyone. I also expect live to stay the same price or up it's price not down it.

To be a 100% honest from what I've heard/read I'm not impressed. I'll just have to wait and see what they end up showing. I'm not planning on purchasing one since I don't like the way they run the xbox brand and they rubbed me the wrong way this generation but I'd really like to see the damn thing so all this speculation and rumors can stop.
sadly that's also my impression, too much focus on other stuff than actual gamesThis is what I'm expecting based off of the rumors so far. nice sig on the bottom dude. Encognito_Mr_BCIf you're referring to me: Thanks, man! If not: TRAITOR!
I love my 360, but yeah. I agree. The 720, Infinity, Durango, whatever is shoving Kinect down our throats, and I don't quite like it.Honestly? I'm not expecting good things. I haven't cared for Microsoft's direction the past couple of years, and these new rumors make the next Xbox sound like a potential disaster. Probably going to be too much focus on Kinect for my liking.Â

That's what I'd be worried about too, that Kinect will be too much of a focus. Microsoft seems to care just as much(if not more) about 'extra crap' as they do about the actual video games these days and that isn't right.
This, mostly.I just want good games. Seriously, that's all. :) During Xbox era, next gen was a big step but I don't expect the same leap from 360 to 720.Â

Hopefully:
The 360 is great and if Microsoft was smart they would simply build on the great things about it instead of trying to completely change everything. More or less I just want great games, especially co-op games. My two best friends and I all went are separate ways after high school so now we only talk on XBL.
For one, I would not like it to block used games. And so far that's what all the rumors are aiming at. That would be so ridiculous if MS pulled some BS like that. I expect it to be more entertainment based this time around, which I don't like either. I want them to focus on gaming instead of movies, music, and all that social networking bullcrap. I know you said don't think about the rumors, but so far everything that has been said about Durango has been disappointing.Â
There were LOTS of disappointing things said about the PS4 before it was unveiled, one of them being that it wouldn't be able to play used games, either. This proved to be not true. Also, if the Share button on the new PS4 controller isn't an indication that it's also moving more towards "social networking bullcrap," then I don't know what is.For one, I would not like it to block used games. I want the same exact thing as the Xbox 360, but a controller that has the rechargeable battery thing built in it like the PS3, and modding capabilities. No touch screens, no crap like that. Just the 360 with modding capabilities and a slightly improved controller.
