Um, I go with the classic method of simply turning the game off and walking away. This has been made much easier with the 360 being able to be turned off with the controller.
My brother however is not as peaceful as I am. He has done just about everything you guys said in addition to pulling the classic Wiimote into TV action(except for the fact that it was an N64 controller and it didnt slip, he threw it).

cod3 on veteran, i was in a mission, in the mission i had to retreat, i through 5+ smoke bombs, i run, and i get hit EVERYSHOT FROM A MP40 FROM SNIPING DISTANCE I DIE IN ONE SECOND!!11!1, AND I CANT SEE THE GUYS CAUSE THERES SMOKE EVERYWHERE SO HOW CAN THE SEE ME, AND OUT OF EVERYONE, THEY JUST HAVE TO KILL ME,
I used to break controllers a lot. My old gamecube has a scratch across the top where I actually threw the controller at it. Now though, since I have more "self control" I usually just throw things at my brother insead...or my dad...or anyone else unfortunate enough to be in the room...ok, so scratch the self control thing
if for example is a online game like r6v, i just curse the guy who killed me when i put 2 clips in his chest, and i curse him until i respawn and if a single player game, i either turn it off or just get really peed off :P
