I usually try and get enough info on the game, wait for reviews, and try and find a good multiplayer game to keep me satisfied until the game comes out.
I usually go on the boards and speculate about it. It depends however. In the case of Halo 3 I had a total new block out. In the case of too human, I want to know as much as I can.
Get as much info on it as possible, check out trailers, articles, play prequels and if its a game i have been waiting a long time for then I will rave about it to anyone who will listen (usually myself)
I just find a game that interests me to pass the time, or I just don't play anything at all, go hang out at my friends' house a couple of days and just keep myself busy and go with the flow.
