What do you guys think of Homefront?

I downloaded the trailer on xbox live today and even though it doesnt show any gameplay I really like what I saw. It actually kinda scared the **** out of me as this is something that really could happen,

I saw an in game demo video and it has a lot of potential. The story is really stupid but that can easily be overlooked with great gameplay. KC_Hokie

I like the concept, but I bet the execution won't be that great. Who knows yet though? I have to consolidate my purchases so I'll probably get RAGE instead, but I'm still open to the idea of buying it. Trouble is, it has to be a shooter and I already have tons of shooters. Too bad it's coming out when a bunch of others will be out. I doubt it will do well as a new IP.

I dont understand how you think the story is stupid, It deals with things that are going on right now. Kim jong il is probley going to be replaced by this guy and who knows what he is going to do. I think it is nice and "fresh" to have a story that is grounded in reality.

IDK If we were EMP'd It would knock out all of our defences including communication. If they followed up with the invasion directly after the atack we would be pretty helpless...

Still depending on the size of the EMP, and if those countries were also affected, they would also have difficulty in organizing a response

I don't see how the story is stupid, as everybody else has said, it is very much a threat, North Korea is very close to getting nuclear capabilities, and their leader is stupid enough to use it, and you may not know this, but nukes let out an EMP. When the nukes were dropped in WW2, electronics in Hawaii got messed up because of it.

That game looks incredible. It quickly shot up past To End All Wars to be my second most anticipated game. The story so far sounds amazing and actually realistically possible. Frontlines was a pretty fun game and it seems that the team at Kaos as learned a lot.

I think they wanted to get a story that was more about the USA under the control of another country and work off of that.

The story seems like fun fiction, frankly I'm sick of fighting Russians in all my video games. I'm really looking forward to the game, all I need to see are a round of decent reviews and I'm sold. THQ have been doing some good things lately..

Looks like something new and unique, which is what i need, the game play i've seen and cut scenes remind me of a modern day Half life 2 in a way, tho i haven't seen alot, i would love if it felt like Half life tho

Bioshock, Halo, Metal Gear, COD, Kingdom Hearts....we dont need fully realistic stories in games to enjoy them. Stop complaining

An EMP blast would never be strong enough to shutdown North America in its entirety, its ridiculous. North Korea wouldnt even be able to conquer South Korea and/or Japan. And China wouldnt even let them do that, if someones going to invade Japan, they would do it, not NK. But then China in its american economic dependance towards the US, they wouldnt be able to afford to break up relationships with the western world. Their economy would krash.

So in other words, stop pissing in your pants kiddos, North Korea aint conquering anything, period.

it looks like a great game but from wat weve seen so far it isnt a day one purcahse for me yet
