I have never got Dragon's Dogma, and I did like the demo. Now with Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen coming out in April and for only $39.99 I guess I will have to get it now.
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen just seems like way too good of a deal to pass up, and being that I didn't get the original Dragon's Dogma earlier it makes it an even better deal.
I wish that this would be out now instead of another month away, because I just can't wait to get and play Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen.

So what do you think about Dragon's Dogma?

I had watched countless amount of videos and reviews about Dragons dogma and it looked really good. I was comparing Kingdom of Amalur and Dragons Dogma together but ended up getting KOA because of the price difference. I heard from many people who had played it and from watching videos that they found it repetitive just like KOA but I can't confirm that because I haven't played it yet. IF there is a price drop in this game I would highly consider buying it because it looks like a great open world experience. I am in the same boat as you are, where considering buying this game as crossed my mind many times in the past few months.

Excellent game, not for everyone though. It has a decent challenge that can be made even harder now thanks to the addition of a new difficulty setting and a Speed Mode. Wait until the Dark Arisen version comes out though, that way you'll get the entire game, all it's DLC and the new expansion in one go and for cheaper than it was when released last year without the DLC and expansion.

DD is an amazing game. The combat is absolutely incredible. There is nothing like running through a forest foraging for supplies and loot when a gryphon drops in unexpectedly. Controls are excellent, sense of scale in the world is very very well done, and the upgrade and pawn systems are well implemented as well. Only real downside is a lack of quick-travel, but it only becomes a hassle when you want to play a few quick missions. But then again, this game isn't exactly about quick missions. It CAN get repetitive, but the amount of combat options really keeps the game fresh and exciting long after it should have outstayed it's welcome.

i haven't picked it up yet, but i'm planning too. When it came out, there was skyrim, dark souls , kingdoms of amulur.. Was enough medieval fantasy for me, i would have picked it up already if it didn't cost still full price. This means only thing, the game is very good.

The game is fairly challenging and doesn't hold your hand at all. I enjoyed what I played of it, but I would have liked to spend more time on it.

Pretty good game from what I saw, and it certainly has a unique feel to it.

Skyrim doesn't have one, and it supposed to be the best rpg out. And if it does have a story I couldn't find it, which is one reason I got bored with it.

Exactly why Skyrim is NOT the best RPG out there. If you want excellent writing, developed characters and lore try Fallout New Vegas and its DLCs. Obsidian did a masterful job with that game (when it comes to writing)! I consider it to be the best wRPG of this gen.

It's a great game and I must say I became a fan of it. Yes its true that it has a weak story line but the combat and the monsters will make up for it. It is the closest thing from Monster Hunter. That is why I loved the game. Plus easy achievements.

I rented it, but I had hard time knowing where to go and what I should be doing. You didn't know what quests or side quests you should do because the enemies could be too hard. The game seems really cool with the monster design and combat, but the lack of a true fast travel or direction, least to say I didn't get very far and sent it back. Though I want to like it someday.

Dragons dogma is one of the worst games I've played in a long time. After 13 hours of playing I stopped and haven't put it back in since. The game is full of horrible glitches and it is so unpolished I'm surprised it went gold. It was ambitious but IMO it could have used another half a year or more in the oven. Draw distances are horrendous. People popping in and out within 50 feet of you in towns and cities. An almost non existent fast travel system that in a game so large is mind blowingly stupid. It almost forces you to buy dlc to make it a viable option in game. The combat though refreshing is still in need of a major polishing. I don't understand why so many like this game it IMO is so bad and unpolished. The story or what little there is, is pathetically written and clearly shows this game was a rushed money grab. I regret my 40 dollars spent and I'm glad I purchased it used cap com deserves no money for horrible products like these.

do not listen to this guy... total troll. i played the game for near 60 hours and ran in to no major glitches. -draw distances are perfectly fine, there is NOT a lot of pop in -the lack of fast travel is INTENTIONAL, the developers wanted you to have to traverse the game world and deal with all the dangers present -the combat is one of the best aspects of the game, and does NOT need any changes -the story is just a backdrop for your own adventures in the world if all else doesnt attract you.... this game has, quite possibly, THE ABSOLUTE BEST FINAL BOSS BATTLE OF ANY GAME EVER MADE. it is epic, long, looks amazing, is diverse, and best of all SUPER fun. -

How am I a troll? My experience with the game was not a good one. Don't tell me the draw distance is fine when people disappear and reappear right in front of you same with giant monsters. The combat is flawed often you find yourself on a beast looking or moving in a completely useless or unrealistic way. You often get stuck upside down for instance. Monsters also tend to respawn exactly where you killed them before making for tedious and boring gameplay as you head down the same paths again and again because of horrible fast travel system. Also the story is a backdrop to my adventures? I'm sorry what adventure? Walking around killing things with the most basic of story telling me why I am is not an adventure it's a hack and slash game with zero depth. Its an rpg where story means everything. Sadly I purchased an rpg with an almost non existent story. Your character can't even talk. But the npc that follow you will make up for that saying the same stuff over and over again and so often I wanted to punch the god damn screen. I tend to like quality and polish in my games as well as good stories this game has non of that. It clearly was rushed and is another capcom game that tries to be like rest with a flare but IMO fails on all fronts. I did not like this game and I will say it again. It's the worst game I have played in a very very very long time. If you like quality titles that are polished and have good stories this game isn't for you. If your someone who is lenient on the quality and polish of titles and like hack and slash gameplay with long boring walks fighting the same creatures over and over again then this is for you. Ambitious the game was but that is all it will ever be in my books s it clearly didn't evolve past that.

I was enjoying it until I was like "WTF, it's over?!". In design it was fine but it's a short game. There's not much to explore, there's little story, quests aren't satisfying, but if you just like grinding then I guess you can grind solely for the sake of grinding.

I researched this game a few months ago and decided not to get it.  Seemed like more of the reviews said it was lacking, decent game but nothing special.  I ended up getting KOA and Witcher 2 instead.  Might eventually pick it up when it's $20 or cheaper but wouldn't spend more than that.

Really enjoyable game.  I'm hoping the new Dark Arisen expansion comes as availabe DLC to download and not just on the upcoming edition of the game.  The game has a nice blend of traditional fantasy setting and Japanese style gameplay (the combat is very stylish for a fantasy RPG like this).  While the story isn't awful (an interesting plot twist comes about) the fact that your character doesn't talk is annoying (at this point I feel like all characters should talk in games unless of course there's a plot reason they don't).

And there's New Game Plus, which makes it cool to go back to areas when you're more leveled up and really take control of the situation.  Unlike Skyrim this game doesn't level scale the enemies for you, so you can't go all over right from the beginning or you'll find a quick death.  It's not Dark Souls hard, but it is a welcome challenge, and it makes taking down larger enemies more rewarding.

I'd say definitely go for this game when it comes out.

Dragon's Dogma is not satisfying. The combat and big monsters are cool, sure, but the environments/the world are completely dead. The characters are completely lifeless. It's a cool combat mechanic lost in a very uncharming world. It's a decent game with nothing more.

^^^ hasnt played the game.... clearly. if wandering through the forest looking for that quest location only to have a griffon drop out of the sky randomly when you have been to that area safely a dozen times in the past doesnt make the game world feel alive, i dont know what does.

I agree with this minus the decent game part. The world in this game is horribly baren and lifeless. This game needed a lot of work to make it even slightly appealing I'm pissed I wasted my money but glad capcom got non of it since this game is incomplete and boring

Dragon's Dogma is not satisfying. The combat and big monsters are cool, sure, but the environments/the world are completely dead. The characters are completely lifeless. It's a cool combat mechanic lost in a very uncharming world. It's a decent game with nothing more.

I agree with this minus the decent game part. The world in this game is horribly baren and lifeless. This game needed a lot of work to make it even slightly appealing I'm pissed I wasted my money but glad capcom got non of it since this game is incomplete and boring

most likely hasnt played the game at all. what he is saying doesnt match up in the slightest with the actual game.

I have purchased it used for 40 dollars at gamespot. Worst game purchase in a long time. I like quality and polish in games. This game has non of that. I'll say it again the game was rushed and not finished. Why the hell else would they add in a hard difficulty months after it's release as DLC? Did you even bother to read my two previous posts or are you just blowing **** out your ass? So many child like people on this site it's not even funny....

It´s a decent game and the combat it´s the best part of it,everything else is fairly average to mediocre but it´s still a worthwhile game if you´rer a big fan of the genre, otherwise not so much.
