I'm actually working through Gears on insane now....and so far its going alright....I have beaten Call of Duty 4 on veteran, and although extremly difficult at times, it was no where near as hard as COD 2.....COD 2 has one thing that makes it much harder than COD 4 and that is the fact that enemies ALWAYS respawn....in COD 4 you can take your time and take out most of the soldiers before moving up, in COD 2 you really have to move forward at all times or the enemies are going to just keep on coming.

I have also beaten Vegas on realistic, but I haven't beaten Halo, simply because it hasn't interested me enough yet.

COD 2 was not that hard, it just took alot of tries, Gears of war on insane only gets hard if ur alone when Fighting RAAM, COD 4 was really hard for me, after I had cleared like 99% of one mission, the game bugged out, I needed one of my soldiers just to open a damn door for me... and he wouldn't, after that i lost all taste for victory and put the game aside.

Also, I'd add Devil May Cry 4 to the list because the hardest difficulty is on an entire other level...or so I hear.

Yes it is! The hardest difficulty is like impossible. It's one hit kill. Yeah I played DMC 3 on that difficultty and it was insane. DMC4 could be easier but I heard it has that diffuculty and that difficulty is hard for that game.

I would try and make the argument that Tsavo highway's rediculous fight near the end makes it one of the hardest, however the rest of the games so stupidly easy it makes no bones.

GoW was easy except for General RAAM who was near impossible, but still nowhere near as hard as the stupid Tsavo Highway fight.

But then both pale in comparison to some parts of CoD 4, and the only part of CoD 4 which'might' put it above CoD 2 is Mile High Club, but again thats one small part of the game.

CoD 2 has the most consistantly high difficulty, which takes another sharp turn upwards when you get to the D-Day landings. I would personally say that CoD 2 wins, with CoD 4 close behind, Halo and GoW shouldnt even be on this list, unless it's for "Worst designed gunfight" or "Most unfair boss fight"

Wont pass comment on RSV2 as i've not played it.

When reffering to Halo 3 or GoW, I have no references for co-op, I only have experience with them in Legendary and Insane mode single player.

For me.. Gears of War. Call of Duty 2 is difficult as well, but not as hard as Gears. I have yet to finish COD2 on veteran though. I've been distracted with COD4 MP/ GTAIV / MLB 08 the show and of course my wife and son.

CoD 2 on Veteran difficulty is terribly hard.

I beat the whole thing (thank God) but it was such a frustrating experience, words can not describe it.

Call of Duty 4-- Pretty easy / 2 levels are really hard.

Call of Duty 2-- Im going through it right now / So far easy.

Halo 3-- Hard but kinda meh after I beat 4 + times with friends.

Gears Of War-- Easy you just need to take your time.

I say Lost Planet -- :evil: I cant even hurt the first boss on extreme difficulty.

I never touched Halo 3 cuz it was just too boring... I dont have Rainbow6Vegas... Gears was pretty hard on insane, but I did like all of it co-op... COD4 wasn't really that hard, and for all of you saying Mile High Club is impossible, it's not... Mile High Club is pretty easy actually once you come up with a strategy... COD2 WAS FREAKIN' HARD, the enemies would never stop comin' out, they always respawn... Especially D-Day hardest mission to do... You have no cover, you have to keep advancing... So COD2 is the hardest in all those...
