what does everyone think the big announcement will be?

im actually hoping for a hd-dvd built in but only its priced less than the elite

what does everyone else think itll be?

I don't think it will be gaming related. Other than that, I don't have a clue!

IDK, but all signs lead the the Xbox 360 ultimate and I honestly think thats what it is going to be, think about it, it is not that crazy of an Idea first of all, and its what MS needs if they want to make it past this year with the 360 and still compete with Sony. And finally, the rumors have been going on since mid December about this new ultimate and MS has not once denied the rumors, and guess what, if you were MS and were going to announce something at CES and a few weeks before people start talking about a new 360, and what you were going to announce was not the ultimate and you have no such plans, wouldnt you immediatly come out and shoot down those rumors early so that whay you announce does not get overlooked by abunch of forum kids who were expecting the ultimate? I certainly would, and I think MS would, but just because of the fact that they havent and also the fact that last time rumors and specs like this leaked, it was with the elite, and guess what, that was true.

I also think that if they dont announce a new 360 ultimate, then they now better hope its something big, like MGS4 to the 360, free xbl, some new really awesome gamesor something because I do not know how they will over come the dissapointment if these rumors are not true. We will most likely find out sunday, lots of publications are going to be reporting then, but who knows if they will find out sunday or not, but just so you guys know CES is 7-10.

true man good points but free xbl is a mistake i like paying for a service that very rarely goes down and to have free demos and great servers and i never thought of MGS4 being the announcement but i would love for that to be it

ahh my bad man must have mis read but still those would be cool announcements none the less

believe me guys the announcement wont be a 360 with hd-dvd in it!! It just doesnt make sense for the 18 million people that already have 360 to have to buy something new to be able to play games. HD DVD games are not goign to happen. they are not needed this gen, Sony just chose blu ray so they didnt have to do any compression, but every 360 game that is on ps3 fits on a dvd fine. Sorry guys but its just not happening. Built in HD DVD maybe, but IPTV is a more likely step for them.seanmcgee87

The HD DVD wont be used for gaming or Microsoft will have 10 million angry casual gamers that are pissed that there 400 dollar/euros machine is worthless. And I dont need to watch HD movies so I hope it's something else. Something that is good for both the old and new 360 owners.

You think MS is going to lose even more money per console?? Yeah right. If they did put an HD-DVD drive internally, you bet your arse it would be $549! It'll probably be something with XBL or something, like Jam said, not gaming related.

I just hope it is

A. A BIG announcement about 360

B. Not some junk about how LIVE is EVERYWHERE OMGZORZ!

I think it might be something along the lines of a "slim" 360 to try and improve European and Asian view of the system or possibly just that they have licensed multiple vendors to make systems with 360 gaming tech. What if Panasonic makes one with a Blu-ray player and Toshiba makes an HD-DVD. :o Probably never happen...
