So what game do you regret spending $60 on?
For me? I'd say Mercenaries 2 and Dead Rising were big letdowns.
Also Vampire Rain but I didnt buy it right when it came out, thank God.
Picked up Beowulf a couple nights ago. $10, decent buy.

I'll just go ahead and name a game I regret getting this year. The biggest regret is Mercs 2: World In Flames. Such a messy game.
I buy games pretty carefully, so I haven't really made a big mistake this gen, last gen I bought FFXII day one because you know, it's FF and it's supposed to rock, but it sucked and I didn't play for more then 10 hours.
Edit: Also, if you buy a game and realize you shouldn't have, sell it on ebay for 45 dollars after you finish it, recoups the loss nicely.
Give it to me x) lol. I love that game.well the only game that I have paid $60 for has been Dead Space and in no way am I regreting that purchase.
the only game I regret buying is Assassins creed. Got it for $30 but got boring after the first three targets killed.

I was thinking about picking up Beowulf soon since it is down to $10 but I wasnt sure if it would be an okay buy.
My only regret has been Bioshock, thank god i got it from work for only $29 a few weeks after release, if i would have spent full price on it i would have been really angry.
Would I be the only one to say Two Worlds?
Wow that game was awful. I remember my jaw dropping during opening cutscene. Most XBOX games put those kind of graphics to shame. Then came the first spoken words of the game. Wow.

XD lmao. I played the demo and thought it was just awful, the voice acting at least. I didnt get to play the whole game though.
[QUOTE="kgansor"]I think this thread should actually be titled "Justify your worst game purchase" XD lolmitu123Yeah, that makes sense, although Mercs 2 isn't the worst game I got/played on the 360, I've played games worse than Sonic 06...
True, true.
Everyone always adds why they picked up a game that really sucked like we'll all bash them for it, but its nice to see that we aren't alone in having sucky games in our collection. You never know if a game will truely suck or be good until you play it for yourself.

Yeah, but that requires time and patience, and like I said earlier, your sanity. We mainly play these sucky games because of hype, looks and what other people say about them. It happened with Hour of Victory, when IGN gave it a 5.7, I had to play it, but it really didn't deserve that score IMO, more like a 2.7 or 1.7, so all in all, just hope for the best(or worse) when playing these games, and sometimes I play horrible games on purpose.I have a bunch of games in my collection from all systems that gamespot and ign gave crappy scores and i loved them and then again i have played games with high scores and hated them which is why i dont ever follow any websites "scores" ill read reviews to see why they gave it that score but i always play something for myself because only i can judge what I will like.
I also like hearing feedback from other players of the game too which is why i enjoy these boards.
it's on ps3 Little Big Planet ....i have been betrayed by gamespot and other users ...saying create anything ...creativity...if you guys a hardcore gamers for a decade JUST DON'T BUY this stupid game sykalob
I watched that 4players live podcast and they were playing the demo and i thought it looked good. I will play just about every game out there ranging from brutal blood spurting everywhere to my little pony XD
I agree 100%, plus I'm one of the players to talk to, I enjoy talking to anyone basically when it comes to reviews in games.I have a bunch of games in my collection from all systems that gamespot and ign gave crappy scores and i loved them and then again i have played games with high scores and hated them which is why i dont ever follow any websites "scores" ill read reviews to see why they gave it that score but i always play something for myself because only i can judge what I will like.

I only spent $60 on one Xbox 360 game and that was GTA4. I do however regret buying Gears of War. I cant get myself to finsih the damn game.Wasdie
I spent $60 on GTA4 when it came out too, I couldnt believe i was doing it but i actually really liked the game.
I didnt think I was going to like GOW at first, it looked cool but I had my doubts but I ended up liking it, but I felt the same way as you with Bioshock. I did finish it but i had to force myself to do so.

I love hearing peoples opinions especially on games im thinking about picking up, it really helps.. just like you telling me about Sonic XD
I am the same way with movies too, im a huge movie freak and i watch every and any movie so i love giving reviews and telling people about awesome movies
I regret buying Juiced 2 so much. Biggest piece of crap I own, can't believe I actually payed money for it. I absolutely hate it. The handling is just way off and it just didn't seem to work all that well.
I've only got several games, and none of them I am unhappy with - though I was stupid enough to buy PGR3 when I first bought my console and regretted it pretty badly.
One thing that is baffling me is that all you guys whine about paying $60 for a game (I'm guessing in the US) when I forked out $110 Stranglehold and $130 for the limited Halo 3 (AUD). I spent like $80 on Gears of War but by our standards - as close to release as I got it - it was fairly cheap
The only thing I regret about having paid $130 for Halo 3 is that the console froze and started giving me the general hardware three-red lights when I was playing through on Legendary. I'm not a particularly driven person, either, so I haven't yet sent my baby off to get repaired.
