What game for 360?

I am ordering an Xbox 360 Platinum Edition, and its only $300! Anyhow, I don't know what games I should get for it. I was going to get Gears of War, but my friend says multiplayer sucks, and he will let me borrow it. Any games? Halo 2 seems like a good option, but its not next gen.

don't take your friends opinion till your play it (I got a lot of friends whom said dead rising sucks but it rules), Gow is prolly the best but my other would be TES:Oblivion, Dead Rising, Fight Night Round 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Call Of duty 2, Burnout Revenge and Rainbow 6 vegas.

then order Halo 3, Mass effect, Assasins creed and Bioshock
