What game do you think has the best original soundtrack?

I think Mass effect. but halo 3 comes in a close 2nd.

I love Halo's music. Marty does an amazing job.

But if its licensed music, then I have to say Vice City.

GTA games have licensed soundtracks. The songs weren't made for the game.

That said, Oblivion had a nice original score. My favorite, however, has to be Ocarina of Time.

Whew, this is a tough one. It depends on what area of music a score is shooting for. You know, I'd say that videogame music was far more inventive and interesting back when midi was prevelant. Descent had really cool music.

Deus Ex probably takes the cake for electronica. Myst III: Exile has an incredible main title, as does Halo, and Morrowind and Oblivion both have sweeping themes.

Any game with Nobuo Uematsu writing the music judas-savior

Eternal Sonata has a very good OST aswell, as do most JRPG'. :)

I agree - Mass Effect by far for me. The Faunts song during the ending credits is just AMAZING!!!

I can't decide if I like Mass Effect or Halo better because both of those soundtracks are superbly done. Coming in a close second is the Lost Odyssey soundtrack.
