You should never rate a game before it even comes out. And like Phoenix said, no game should get a 10/10.
I don't mind a game getting 10/10, and I don't mind a game or movie getting a 5 star ratings. I highly doubt it is "literally" considered perfect, but the 10 is more so in value... as in terms of Fun Factor. There are plenty of things I'd rate 5/5, 10/10 or any high score. I mean, a rating of 9.75 is just... .25 away from perfect... and if "nothing" is perfect, I'm wondering what would be just ".25" away from perfect. I don't mind 5/5, 10/10, or 100. As a viewer, I can understand fully well that the person reviewing is simply saying... "very very very very good" in their opinion. And if anyone has a problem with that, I've got 2 words for you.okaytopics
Very well said.
However, my question to the topic creator is this: What games are coming out exclusively for the 360 this year? :P
OK, kinda kidding but kinda serious here. MS hasn't really announced much. We know the Halo expansion, Wingnut's Halo game, BigPark has a game, LionHead has a game, Rare has a game, Alan Wake, Bungie has a game, Mass Effect 2 (this one might pull it off based on how awesome the first is), but really, we have a bunch of unannounced games at the moment, an expansion and two games that may not make it this year.
Still, I suppose based on what I know, Mass Effect may be the one to rock the boat, because in my eyes, the first one is a total 10.
No game deserves a 10, because 10 means "perfect." There is always something wrong with every game ever made.
Also, nearly all of the games coming out for the 360 in the foreseeable future are multiplatform (Bioschock 2, Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc)
My God, people can be so damn thickheaded. A 10 does not mean it's perfect. In no publication, be it online or in print, does it ever say that a "10" rating means the game is perfect. "10" simply means that's it's just about as close to perfect as a game can be. Every damn game has flaws. We all know this. Stop being so damn picky and get on with the program. No game deserves a 10, because 10 means "perfect." There is always something wrong with every game ever made.

10.0: Prime This exceedingly rare score refers to a game that is as perfect as a game can aspire to be at its time of release. Obviously, the constantly changing standards for technology and gameplay will probably make this game obsolete some day, but at its time of release, a game earning this score could not have been improved upon in any meaningful way.
so you're wrong as well, but nice thickheaded comment

Too right and even so in some peoples eyes games can be a 10 its not about how technical the damn thing is, some people are just simplistic look, play and think its excellent which i think is great. What the hell is the point in a 10 if no games ever going to get it because "it isn't perfect" people are so damn fussy i have a few gems from my years i can easily rate tens.
Well if you were to give a game a 10, you're not necessarily giving it to a perfect game, just a game that is relatively the best game on the console. If any games were going to net the top spot you'd be looking at titles like Oblivion, GTAIV, Fallout 3, Bioshock and COD 4 etc. or other titles that generally receive frequent acclaim. However, I don't think you could give a title that's not out yet a rating which would mean it's the best game on the console, just have to wait and see I guess :).
Edit: Although if Bioshock 2 WAS exclusive I'd put my money on this one being the best, the first game was just incredible.

Agreed, but for those released, I'd say Halo 3 deserves near perfect!

I'm going to try really, really hard to ignore what you just said. I think that if I actually take in what you said, it will make me angry enough to call you some very nasty names.
Instead, I will offer that you re-read GameSpot's definition of "10". Especially the itty bitty section that says "cannot be improved upon in any meaningful way". I think a normal human being, capable of reading between the lines, would know that GameSpot was saying that the game COULD be improved upon, but it would not make much difference.
I'm not wrong. If anything, you just reinforced my point.
BTW, Making pudding if what people say on a gamespot forum makes you so upset as to feel the need to call them some 'very nasty names,' maybe you should find something else to do with your time. I mean really, the guys on the interwebs made you mad when talking about video games? :oXions-Fursy
Plane flew over your head my friend and I think you completely missed it.
Mass Effect 2 is 360 exclusive. I don't think it will get a 10 but it will hold it's own against exclusives on other consoles. I'm curious though. You metioned the Wii. What good exclusives is the Wii getting this year? What game that is coming exclusively for the 360 you think would deserve a 10 of score or a game that can give some competition to the ps3 or wii esclusives?
