dont worry about achievements, worry about gameplay, such as oblivion, or rb6 vegas, and forza2
our gen is getting lost in achievements
Dead Rising achievements are really creative. If it weren't for the achievements, I wouldn't have played that game like 10 times through from the beginning to the end. I would have played it once and that's all. I got 960 achievement points from that game. Dead Rising 4 Life!
CoD3 achievements are inventive as well (fire only bolt-action rifles, use 300 rounds or less in a campaign, etc...).
Bomberman Live has some wacky achievements as well. (Bomb someone dressed as a Cowboy while you are dressed as a Cowboy, win an all-girl match on Ranked). good times.
I dunno, I think that acheivements get you to play games you might otherwise have ignored.
Also, they give alot of replay value to games that I may have otherwise set aside.
If I'm having fun getting the acheivements, I don't see any reason to think their bad, or that I'm getting lost in 'em.

yea i agree they give the replay value. i constantly catch my self playing old games and trying to get all the hard achievements. i think its fun
