what happened to Perfect Dark Zero?

I don't really hear anyone talking about Perfect Dark Zero it received lots of good reviews and its exclusive yet nobody really mentions the game when it comes to must have 360 games. What did it fail to do? What made it so unpopular? BTW i've never played it but wouldnt mind trying it out.

Could never be bothered to finish the single player game.

But the multiplayer was great. Great capture the flag (with hovercrafts and jetpacks.)

I agree with msdd9. It has been out for a while, after all. I hopped online to play it about three months ago, and there was no one else playing.

the MP was ok but the SP was horrible. Everyone else has said it perfectly though. There are just too many good games out that trumpt PDZ in quality that it never gets played anymore.

I still have it. It sits on my shelf and longingly looks at me hoping that one day when I get home from work I will select it as my game of choice for the evening. HA! Fat chance! Why play that when I have a flood of great new titles like Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box, Bioshock, need I go on...

Funny you should mention this game, it's one of the recent ones I purchased. I was curious just like you about this game and why there was so little discussion about it

Personally I picked it up at a nearby GameStop used for about 10 bucks, and I don't think it's bad... But yes, there's something missing from the game, and while I was not a 360 owner at time of launch (Only have had an Xbox for about three months now.) I do agree that it may have been buried by other games that came out soon after it.

Also, I've never played the original Perfect Dark, however, from what I read it's supposed to be a prequel to the Perfect Dark story, not a sequel? Hence Perfect Dark Zero?

Some people think it's a game that was great for it's time. Others think it was a pile of... Well, you get the idea. Either way, it just seemed to fade out of the spotlight rather quickly.

I'm more concerned about RARE. They used to be a mighty unstoppable game development team, but the best thing they have done in the last 6 years is Viva Pinata. I just hope they can pull it together for the new Banjo-Kazoie.jmartin1016

The GameSpot review pretty much sums it up as far as the single player campaign goes:

It's fortunate that the action is as good as it is, since the story in Perfect Dark Zero--which involves a power-hungry businessman's search for some sort of powerful artifact--feels surprisingly tacked on. A combination of voice-over mission briefings and rather unimpressive cutscenes using the in-game character models try to drive the plot forward, but it's easy to get lost in the details, and it's harder to care.GameSpot

Perfect Dark = terrible singleplayer , but AWESOME online.

If you have a hand full of friends to play with, ONSLAUGHT (like attack adn defend) and Sabatoge are ALOT of fun online.

I enjoyed PD0, it was fun, but SP was pretty lame, and it's kind of hard to explain the weapon system if you have a guest over.

it was horribly bad on single player. The aim and slow pacing was really messed up as well. so multiplayer was just annoying instead of competitive.
