What if you woke up on the morning of April 29th....

to check out the review of Grand Theft Auto 4 on Gamespot before going to the store to pick it up. And you see that Gamespot barely gave it a 7. What would you do?

Personally I would be so pissed off because Ive expected so much from this game. Id prolly go cancel my reservation and go play it at a friends house to see how it got a 7.

Think to myself: I guess RockStar didn't pay up.

I'd be pissed that i expected so much from this game. There isn't much else coming out any time soon besides GTA4 so I'm relying on it being a decent game for a months or so.

I think what the TC means is that if we woke up to find that GTA4 was a really average game. Because i've personally lost all faith in gamespot giving a decent and fair review.

Yea true. But still GTA IV has so much hype and nobody can wait 15 more days. Its too late, if this game is just average then im going to pull my hair out. Also im starting to trust IGN more too because they were right about Assassins Creed and these guys are too harsh with reviews

Gamespot's like rolling dice sometimes they're great reviews others they're too harsh or too lenient. I normally use IGN's and gameinformer's reviews.

i dont care about game reviews anymore, i just go find a game that looks good, throw 60 bucks on the counter and leavedsman418

I'd laugh at what a joke gamespot reviews are (and have been for quite some time), go buy the game, and play it for 10 hours straight.

If you'd cancel a preorder because some sorry excuse for "journalists" like gamespot give it a bad review, then you need to seriously consider thinking for yourself.

"The Good: Stays true to it's roots and is a perfect next-gen representation of the GTA formula. Not many huge changes, but you don't need to fix what isn't broken.

The Bad: Too much like the old GTA games. The formula is starting to get stale and could afford being overhauled"

That's a typical GS review... totally contradicting itself and making no sense whatsoever.

GS gave scarface a 6 and it was pretty good. GS gave Medal of Honour Frontline a 8.5 great and it was crap

i really woulddnt care, i would expect it...i havent seen any change in the GTA3 and so on games there all the same with same ol missions.....blah. I know going around smoking people is fun but i dont think i could put up the 70 bucks for it.

it is very intrigueing about multiplayer but it better be badass to carry the weight. Multiplayer is the golden ticket to most games now adays and if there not going to impress me but better missions than drive this to there or kill this guy, loose the cops and come home missions i certianly not gonna get this game.

to everyone enjoy, im sure if its yur thing you will love it but i cant get on the band wagon, all previous titles id do a couple dozen missions but some property but then id find more fun causing chaos than doing the story missions. There written like bad movies to me but sometimes that pays off.

just gonna say enjoy and come relase i may be totally flipped.

I'd go read IGN, because they give games scores that they deserve. Unlike that other site...destinhpark

The scores they "deserve?" I'm sick of all of this crap. No game "deserves" a score, it should be rated on its own merit not by the hype of fanboys like yourself. I stick with GameSpot because they actually apply a critical eye to a game and accuratly list the pros and cons of the product. Rather, IGN rates it based on the hype and how much fun the reviewer personally had with the game.

I stick with GameSpot because the reviewers don't give a crap about what people, without even playing the game, think the game deserves as a score. GS shouldn't be faulted because they actually review a game, rather than bending over for elitest punks like yourself.
