"pretty solid lol, since we discussed these ideas before. Also add the ability to increase the axis sentivties, like X and Y axis, up and down is far to slow in the game. Needs to be MLG game type, and ranged weapons need to be more powerful."

This was posted in a GOW2 thread discussing problems with Gears 2 multiplayer games/options. My question is what exactly is MLG gaming style? In COD4 and Halo 3, what would be different than regular Live matchmaking?

What exactly is your question? What MLG (Major League Gaming) stands for, or what kind of adjustments the gameplay of GeoW needs to fit into that category? Or maybe something entirely different?

I think his question was what make MLG game types different from regular. I honestly don't know what the true difference is.

I know what MLG is, I was curious how the rules of games are changed for competition. I wanted to try these gameplay styles on my own console and see what I thought etc.

I thought they just specifically say what behavior during the games is not accepted (like exploitation of certain glitches/ rocket jumping or whatnot) what kind of settings have to be used for the different game types so that they fit into the category of MLG gaming style. Maybe GeoW 2 is lacking some of the options/ gametypes needed to do that? Of course I'm only speculating, because I don't own that game...

There isnt an MLG playist for GOW or CoD available for matchmaking. The way it was stated in that thread for GoW was just to make it so that it was played with a different style. Me and a buddy discussed this. On Gears we would like to see an MLG playist that looked like this:

No Lancer (Due to the chainsaw being extremely stupid)

No Grenade Tagging (This is also cheap)

Longer respawns on weapons or once picked up they do not respawn again

These were just some of the main things we discussed. I cant remember the other ones at the moment.

Well Halo for example uses 110% move speed, no motions sensors, 90% shield regen, 3 headshots from BR kill than the normal 4, no equipment, etc (all I can think of off the top of my head.)

Basically, the game is "formatted" to what MLG deems competitive.

The only thing I like about MLG is starting with BRs other than that I'm not much of a fan.
