bargain tv 37 inch visio. if you want bigger than a 42 i would go with sony my girlfriends dad has one and it is awesome and they arent as much as a lot of tvs.
If you look around you can find a good 42" 1080p tv for about $799. This is what I would be looking at if I were you. I just got one myself a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it:D
The best TV's are deffinately at Costco. I have a 26' Vizio which I got for 450, but now it's 350. they also have a 32' for 450. The great thing about Costco is that if u return anything from the electronics department, they give u your $$ back without any questions asked.
