Toss up between RFG or Brutal Legend (which i've just bought) Halo ODST might have been up there but I'm probably the only person who hasn't played it yet lol
Year still has 2 months left and there are still numerous candidates, Borderlands, AC2 among them. Thus far however, it's a dead heat for me between Prototype and Arkham Asylum.
Batman: AA. Demon Souls was really good, but too tedious, and I am not getting to play UC2 until after Christmas. RE 5 was disapointing. Killzone 2, Prototyoe and InFamous were awesome.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope. This game was a pleasant surprise for me. I was expecting it to only be ok after reading mediocre reviews, but it was much better than reviews game it credit for in my opinion and turned out to be a pretty good game that I really enjoyed playing. That being said, the only other 2009 release I've played this year is Madden 10 so I don't have much to compare it to :P I do have Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed II preordered though so we'll see if it changes.
Fallout 3 by a long shot I got it on May and it has to be one of the best games I've played on the 360, but if you are talking about 2009 releases then is a coin toss between Red Faction Guerrilla and Batman Arkham Asylum
Arkham Asylum: It's like Bioshock and Splinter Cell Mixed together with a dash of Metroid Condemned 2: Bloodshot: The melee is great, the graphics is great, everything is great. Legendary: I'm so unhappy how underated this game was. It had good action, graphics and some mythical creatures. Gears Of War 2: Great solid cover fire and wicked action. Fear 2: Project Origin: A wicked story, great gameplay, the perfect match for a survival horror freak.
Batman AA was absolutely fantastic, but there's no way I can say that its going to be the best this year. There's still 2 more months of hardcore releases, and November is probably one of the best months this year for releases. ( MW2 and AC2) so I think its a little early to say anything, but so far, Batman.
