I don't really like Gameinformer very much. They're too generous in their scores IMO.
I don't really rely on magazines for game reviews, I look to websites.
Here's a hint.
Game mags are in the business of selling games. The only one I take is Game Informer and that's only because I get it when I buy a 1 year at GameStop....my closest game store.
You are a nutter if you believe half of what you read in those rags. Use them to spark your attention and then read every thing you can up on a game first everywhere else and then buy...or wait and buy used. That's what any smart person does.
Ratings and AAAA letters don't mean a thing if you personally think the game sucks and franklyl, I've disagreed way too much with individual game ratings to ever let them alone make a purchase decision for me.

I think you can say the same about any gaming medium, whether it's a game magazine or mainstream press or a gaming website. How many times have you read an enthusiastic preview on Gamespot for a game that turned out to be complete crap? You'll rarely read a negative word about a game before it's released. Build the hype.
Still, I agree that you have to make an informed decision outside of any individual magazine or website. You can usually get a good idea of whether a game is good or bad by the majority of reviews and other players' comments. Many games have demos, or you can rent to decide.
I've enjoyed games that got bad reviews and hated games that got good reviews. It's all up to personal preference.
Having said that, I like OXM. They focus completely on Xbox (and mostly 360) plus they occasionally have decent stuff on the demo disk (last month had the Eternal Sonata demo a couple of weeks before it was available on Xbox Live).
[QUOTE="zakaweb"]is it in the U.SEdge. Check it out. It is has the best writing and depth. Great design and mature presentation. Gives credibility to gaming.

It is in the US. I know Borders carries Edge magazine. And he is right they write amazing reviews and previews about games. But I also don't mind Game Informer or even Play. I tend to just read them all.
