I had Comcast 12mb/s, averaged about 7 down and 2.5 up, about 15 ping. Worked well, all things considered. Now I have Century Link 7mb/s. I get about 2-3 down and 0.7 up with 80-150 ping. It's definitely a noticable difference but most of the time it doesn't cause problems. Probably wouldn't call it smooth though. Don't know anything about packet loss or jitter.

Those are my stats to give you an idea of what Comcast offers. I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with the service.
What are the ping, jitter, and packet loss limits in order for video games to run smoothly when playing online? And also, which ISP is generally the best for online gaming? Thanks.HOD4Right I'll be the one to bring it down earth, dont obsess over pings, jitter and packet losses, just get an internet connection thats as cheap as possible for as much bandwidth as possible. I have a basic virgin media connection and its fine, all these people who go on about pings are all very knowledgeable but they're over doing it, just about any broadband connection will be fine
