The Linksys WRT54G is probably the most common router most people use. You should get the Linksys with speed booster.

I actually found a linksys router in my room but for some reason its a B**** for me to set up I just cant get it to work.

Don't get Netgear, whatever you do.  They're cheap, but they don't work very well.  I'll probably get a Linksys when I have a chance.

Its not letting me set up my router. Its a linksys..model NR041 and i dont no how to do this its a pain in the A$$

Go for a NetGear if you can't use a Linksys...

The only problem im having so far is when it says now try to connect to the interent. I try and it says it cant connect to my router or something like that.

I used to have the same problem. There is a link I will give that helped me solve it. It's a program that automatically configures the settings to make it work.

Ok listen heres what im having trouble with. I have a dsl modem and When i want to get on xbox live, I have to unplug the internet and get on and vice versa if i wanna get on the 360 and play live. So which ethernet cables am i supposed to plug up to what

You need two ethernet cables to make it work. You plug one ethernet end to the isolated port (or the port that says internet - at least for me) of the router and the other end into your modem. Then you plug one end of the other ethernet cable to an empty slot of the router and the other end into the PC. Run the test I gave you in the link and it should work.

Yeah, when I was talking about the ethernet cable into one of the ports of the router, I ment the 360 one.

Ok well I have a ethernet cable plugged into my router to my modem, then i have another e-cable from my pc hardrive into 1 of my ports and then i have another e-cable from my 360 to the router into another point. Would that work?

Agreed, I love that router and recommend it to anyone. It has great signal coverage over different routers and networks great.
