Ok so I have just sent my Xbox 360 Pro back to Microsoft to repair my broken system because it was getting the 3 Red rings of death. I was thinking of getting a snap on cooling fan when the 360 gets sent back to me but after reading numerous threads it would appear that the 3rd party cooling fans are frowned upon by many gamers and do not work most of the time. So my question is what are some really good conventional ways to keep my system really cool and playable for many years to come? I know you are supposed to give it plenty of open space and fresh air but is there any other way? What about putting a regular room fan close behind the system to blow cool air into it or on the sides of it? I have also heard that raising the system off the ground 3 inches or so really helps ventiliation as well. If this is true, what is the best object to put under the system? Would a hardbound book work or is there something specific I should use? Lastly, I have also heard of people using a Antec laptop cooler for the 360 to help cool it. If that works well, how do I go about hooking it up and does anyone know if that truly does work well or are people just BSing when they say that it does? Thank you everyone for your answers!

1. Make sure it's a climate controlled room (that goes for all electronics)

2. Get 4 hockey pucks to raise it off the shelf it's on allowing room all 360 degrees (pun to your left)

3. Make sure to regularly dust and vacuum

4. That's it

Better yet, drill a couple holes and set it up in your refridgerator.

Does anyone know about this 360 fan modding product? Would it only come with the fans or does it also come with all the necessary wires and plastic shell and stuff to fully install the fans or would I need to buy that stuff seperatley?
