What is the game that made you buy a system?

Resident Evil- Playstation one

Mario 64- Nintendo 64

Halo Comabt Evolved- Xbox

Grand Theft Auto 3- Playstation 2

Gears of War- Xbox 360

I don't buy a system for any one game. I buy a system with the intention of purchasing multiple games.

Well I bought my original 360 in time for Gears of War, but I think the real reason I got one in the first place was because I was tired of waiting through the delays for the PS3.

My second 360 was bought simply because I was missing out on the exclusives that I liked when I had my first one.

I bought my PS3 simply because I'd wanted one for ages, not because of any of the launch titles.

Halo 3 and having many friends with 360's made me want to get one.

I bought a Wii for Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros and sold it after i got tired of just those 2 games, and i bought a PS3 for MGS4 and Killzone 2.

I bought my 360 because of Oblivion, but I probably would have bought it anyway.

360 again for Wolfenstein, even tho its on PS3, it will be better on Xbox. My Xbox died in 2007 and since than Ive been stuck with a PS3

I was looking for the cheapest way to playStreet Fighter 4 since it wasnt coming out on the wii

Trauma Centre Second Oppinion was my killer app for the Wii.

Tomba was my reason for picking up a PS1, even thoug I already had a ps2.

A combination of Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, FFXIII and Banjo Kazooie puched me to buy a 360

PS1=Tekken and MG franchise

PS2= Same reason

PS3= Same reason

XBOX= Ninja Gaiden

I upgraded my rigin anticipation of Fallout3(andSupCom, which I could already run, but not well)if that counts. PC's need an upgrade at least every 2 years. I wouldn't have spent so much if I'd known Fallout3 is comparable graphically with Oblivion. I assumed it'd be more demanding.

I got a dreamcast and only ever owned one game - MVC2 (which I bought w/the DC), but I didn't buy the thing for that game.

Any other system I got because it was the superior system. SNES > Genesis, N64 > SNES (although my N64 was garbage, had it replaced 3 times). PSX was a gift, but PS2 > N64/PSX. Never got an Xbox, PS2 > Xbox even though it wasn't as powerful. 360 > PS2/Xbox (also a gift, I was fine w/PS2). PS3 too much damn $$. Didn't get one.

Edit: I'd considered getting a PSP for FFT:War of the Lions. But my original FFT and PSx still work, and I'd read the PSP port has framerate issues. Also the first PC I ever got was so I could play Subspace (now known as Continuum) with a friend of mine. That may be the point at which I stopped going outside :cry:

I got my PS2 for like too many titles too name............PS3 I got it for all of its exclusive like MGS 4, Killzone 2, and Resistance.

I got 360 for Gears and intially Lost Planet but late I found out Lost planet sucked.

Last gen when Nintendo let me down by releasing the ultra lame Gamecube, I had to choose between PS2 and XBox. I didn't know if I trusted Microsoft enough to take a chance, but all of my friends wer playing Halo and recommended I get it. I'm glad I did!
