I'm 33 and play on XBL almost daily. I have one guy on my list that is 43, he plays more World of Warcraft than XBL these days, but he plays COD and GTA from time to time also. I'm gonna be the 58 yr old grandpa gamer, and most of my friends will be right there with me. joshua6775
I'm still in my late 20s, but I'm already looking forward to be a part of the first big "gaming grandpa generation".

Yep, I'm 34 and game several times per week (although time available to play is becoming more challenging). If you think about it, us early/mid 30's gamers are going to the first group of "senior citizen" gamers. After all, we are the first generation of video gamers. (the Atari 2600 and Intellivision era.) Many who started as a kid in the Atari days are still playing today, and many will likely continue to play with future generations of game systems.
I'm 36 and play pretty much everyday. Like the guy before me, I started playing in the late 70's with the Atari 2600 and have had every system since. Never too old to play video games.aaronikiss
I'm 26 and i remember the atari 2600. Remember that game hero? Where you had a helicopter backpack and got killed by roasting walls? Least i think they were roasting walls. flashing red walls. roasting walls. ROASTING WALLS! I Never owned all the consoles. The jaguar was chit and the neogeo was stupidly priced at the time. Games were like 80 quid! who's gonna pay 80 quid for fatal fury?? I paid 70 quid for a japanese import Streetfighter2 on my famicom, Can't remember how much the famicom cost though. 300 quid or something.
Anyway The oldest guy on my buddy list is 32.
Some fool was playing GoW and he said he was 40 something he actually sounded like it. I don't know if It's true or no though.insane_metalist
So you're a fool if you play GeoW at that age?
Guy in my COD4 clan is 40 odd.V1nnyUK
There are a lot more older gamers than you might think. Remember that console games came on the scene in the early 1980's so there are a lot of people in what is now the older generation who grew up playing video games at home and they never stopped. I myself am about to turn 40 and my best friends who is 43 has an entire extra bedroom in his house that is dedicated to his video game setup, complete with a 60 inch HD flatscreen. It's a pretty nice setup. I think it surprises a lot of younger players that there are so many older players on X-Box and that is probably due to the fact that you rarely if ever hear them on chatting on X-Box iive and I think we all know why that is.

I'm 45 and play Gears as do some of my friends. None of us are fools though...so couldn't have been us.
Age is all a mind trick. I know people who are in their 30s who act like an old person and I know people in their 50s who will out run a 17 year old in a marathon. Me I'm Peter fricken Pan.

The part about how he "actually sounded like it" cracked me up. I'm 48 and have over a dozen online friends in their 40s and 50s. (and probably a couple of dozen in their 30s):shock:My Grandmother...74 years old. We bought her a 360 for Christmas a few years back so she could play Uno with us online.

im 32, does that count as old. Though I mostly prefer single player games like ME series and Elder Scrolls. It doesn't mean I cant enjoy some COD MP once in awhile
The oldest I remember hearing is when I was on Burnout Revenge early in 2007 when I played against someone who said they were 56... pretty much everyone on my friend's list currently is between 10 and 30 years of age. NicAgentghost recon the first one on 360. i never even knew that game had achievements til recently and the multiplier was so hard!

I feel your pain bro.I'm laughing as I sit hear reading this thread of emails. Is that what it's called sonny... a thread? Back In my times we didn't have computers we had to post messages on a board, with a tack and if you wanted to reply you either called them at Klondike 5-2118 or you posted a new message with another tack right below it.
=)
I'm 40 and I game my butt off almost daily. When I can make the time to neglect my family and work and chores. Been gaming since the days of Pong, then the Atari 2600, than an Intellivision, then the NES, Super NES, Genesis, and so on and so on.
Games are like movies, for all ages. Now if you don't mind I need to take my geritol, and get ready for some more GOW3 action... I just love giving you young punks what fer!

Yeah. I'm 50 and i have heard questions like this for the past 30 years. Why do the youth of today think video games were just designed for them? Eww he should stop playing games at 30, oh man, that loser 40 year old is playing, oh wow, that 50 year old grandpa is talking to me on Live, thats creepy. LOL. Sorry to inform the younglings on this forum, but a lot of us have been gaming twice as long as some of you have been alivel. Video games are as much a part of our lives as it is for you. It entertainment, its fun, its a great pass time ( when you have the time ).I'm laughing as I sit hear reading this thread of emails. Is that what it's called sonny... a thread?
