I've been looking on Craigslist to buy a Xbox 360, and some of them say it comes with the new "Falcon" chip to reduce heat, run smoother, and get rid of false hardware issues. Whenever I see that it has the chip I usually ignore that posting because I assume it could actually could cause problems later. So what exactly is this chip? Is it legit? :P

yes, it is a legit chip. it is what microsoft calls the motherboard. u can tell of it by the power supply watt. it's something like 175w. the newer arcades have the jasper chip. it also reduces the heat even better.

Well im on my 2nd Falcon chipped 360-the 1st still running fine after 1 year -just traded up for an Elite.

But with my original launch 360 back in 2006 you could've fried kippers on casing-where it used to run so hot, needless to say it got rrod after only 10 months.
