What kind of horrible glitch is this???!!!

I'm playing assassins creed 2 and trying to get all the viewpoints in venice. I'm finally at the highest on I think, the one that you have to climb in a spiral- it's by the first assassin tomb you find. anyways, i spiral up the tower but when i get to the white part and it's finally time for the high jump he won't grab the next ledge. I've tried over and over turned the xbox off and tried again, and he'll never grab the next ledge. I know that he's supposed to because i watched a tutorial on this one (just to make sure i was doing it right) and in the tut he grabs the ledge!!!! i'm beside myself. I'm a perfectionist so this is a major let down for me. did anyone else have this problem?

Most likely one of your face buttons or triggers/bumpers are not responding, the controls can become unresponsive at times, but it doesn't happen frequently.

hmmm maybe I'll try it with my husbands controllers.

finished the game and my first one that i have all 1000 gamerscore from. and i did not come across any glitches at all sorry.

have you tried holing B when you are falling next to it
