i wanted a next gen console it was cheaper. i learned from buying a gamecube not to buy a wii. gamecube had some good games but i din't play it often like my ps2. i'm not paying $600 for a ps3 (when i bought my 360) i don't have a hd tv for blue ray even though its the cheapest blue ray player out there.

It was the only next gen system out at the time(june 2006). It also looked like it had great games like oblivion and pgr. Also for halo 3.
Because it was cheaper then the PS3. I did some thinking though and I realized that I would be paying for live every year though, so the PS3 would eventually be cheaper. Should have thought more towards the future when I bought my 360.

the wii really didnt appeal to me so my choice was between the 360 and the ps3. i went with the 360 because of the better selection of games, better online community and it was cheaper.
i wanted a PS3 (summer 2006 was time of this) but i couldn't wait for it to come out and i wanted a next gen console i decided to get the xbox 360 since it was already. boy, am i glad i made this decision.
My Xbox was my favorite console of the last generation. When the 360 released the PS2 couldn't hold a candle to the games. DOA 4 really pulled me in. And it currently has the best library of this generation, in my opinion.
I bought a 360 because the ps3 was expensive and there wasnt many games that id play on it and the wii seemed kinda weird...so 360 it was (i also played it at my friends and i thought saints row was rly fun i also had a gamecube as my main system b4...)

To play with friend's and wouldn't have to go to their houses to pwn them lol..I got it as a present though, I had ps3 before, which I still view as the better option. =X
It was the first real next gen console out and also I won tickets to go to the Zero Hour console launch at the Mojave Desert, so I had to get one from there.
JRPGs that aren't coming to the PS3, and Ninja Gaiden 2 not being multi plat. I really tried to not buy a 360, but I couldn't miss out on those games. I tried very hard to hold out. I really did. :(
Halo 3, fable 2, GoW, Condemned, Oblivion, XBL, the 360 controller, and the fact that I'm not into japanese style gaming. I got my xbox on day one and haven't had a second thought about it. I've had two boxes RROD on me, but each time, I got em back, fixed, within about a week. And now, I look at the game catalogs of both ps3 and xbox 360 and there really aren't any games for the ps3 that seem like must haves ( that I cant get on xbox)... and there are at least 10 on xbox. The last couple years have been amazing gamewise.
I loved the library of games, Bioshock tipped the scales but fable 2 was the main reason. I have like 11 games(since last september), and I intend to get more :D
I had been looking at the PS3 and the 360 because the Wii did not interest me and in the end the 360 won out for a couple reason. The first is the price factor since the 360 is cheaper. I also felt that it had the better exclusives that I would like and the multiplatform games always seem to be better for the 360 than the PS3. I also really enjoy Xbox Live and I don't mind paying for the best experience for online gaming. There are probably more but that is all that I can think of right now.
1st i bought the wii cos it looked pretty cool wen it 1st came out. the sec i played gears in a m8s house i went out to buy it the following week. cos xbox live games are pretty awsome and u wont get bored of them for a pretty long while.
