None... But i can tell you of a NPC that made me cry. Load Assassin's creed an go to any city and find any poor. Listen to them for about 1 minutes. True, if you never have been in this situation you won't understand their predicaments.

Never brought me to tears, but the Silent Hill soundtracks (SH2 especially) really make the atmosphere even more depressing. Also, the music that plays on the menu for Halo 3 when the piano comes in halfway through always makes me vision some really sad scenario.

This thread has made me realize I've never cried playing a video game for anyreason. Which is weird cause there is a long list of movies that have lol.

One that has probably made me close to crying would probably be some Halo music

not from music... the story of FFX made me cry (I was 14 at the time, though I would probably still cry today), and I was nearly brought to tears by a few other games, namely Metal Gear Solid and Red Dead Redemption, but it was never just the music

None. The opera scene in Final Fantasy VI comes to mind but no tears.

I don't really remember the music, but I nearly shed tears in Heavy Rain. Obviously that's a PS3 game, but still...

He's talking about just straight music without lyrics, instrumental if you will. Which is generally the type of music in video games.

So just because there isn't any lyrics to ruin the music, it can't make you emotional?! .. nevermind.

Yea, I am a pragmatist. There have been a few really touching songs over the years that brought a tear to my eye. But all out crying, over music, pulleeeeze. When I get emotional it's over something real, like what happened to those little boys at Penn State. Not a few notes melodically strung together in a melancholy way. That's just silly.

Don't know about crying, but I really felt that the music in the Halo Reach live action trailer really conveyed a somber atmosphere.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know why we can't post hyperlinks anymore?

Really, the music alone made you cry like a 4 yr old little girl that had just dropped her ice cream? LOL - Not the scene, and the emotional attachment to the character? Did you cry every time the HALO commercial came on?

I do agree with you that music alone will never make me cry, but it does definitely add to the overall emotion of the movie/game.

Absolutely it can add to the atmosphere and emotion. But that's about all it can do is help to set the mood.

Red Dead Redemption - western music creeps me out, didn't make me cry, but it did make me get goose bumps

Metal Gear Solid 4 - the song during the opening was so amazing.

Saints Row The Third - The final mission when the song "Holding on for a Hero" plays

I've never cried because of a game. I felt a bit emotional at the end of Red Dead Redemption, but I didn't cry.

I agree Red Dead was a rollercoaster but I didn't cry I kinda felt a loss. At first your like ,"I don't care about this guy" and then half way through your realize you have begun to care and at the end your in a "this can't be!!!" state of mind.

Yeah, Halo's music can get emotional sometimes, though, I never cry. It's great music and one of the reasons why I enjoy the Halo series.

It's probably more the story than the music, but the 1st of the "Dreams" from Lost Odyssey (Hanna's Departure) never fails to make me misty-eyed.

It did'nt make me cry, but "Rain in the night" from Command & Conquer (1995) by Frank Klepacki is really evocative. It's on Youtube, i tried posting a link but it did'nt work.
