Never brought me to tears, but the Silent Hill soundtracks (SH2 especially) really make the atmosphere even more depressing. Also, the music that plays on the menu for Halo 3 when the piano comes in halfway through always makes me vision some really sad scenario.
Wait, what. is this a joke? No music has ever made me, or any other man I have ever known, cry. I don't even think my wife has cried over music alone. Pulleeeeze. :roll:Topic

He's talking about just straight music without lyrics, instrumental if you will. Which is generally the type of music in video games.[QUOTE="001011000101101"][QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"]Wait, what. is this a joke? No music has ever made me, or any other man I have ever known, cry. Yea, I am a pragmatist. There have been a few really touching songs over the years that brought a tear to my eye. But all out crying, over music, pulleeeeze. When I get emotional it's over something real, like what happened to those little boys at Penn State. Not a few notes melodically strung together in a melancholy way. That's just silly.Really, the music alone made you cry like a 4 yr old little girl that had just dropped her ice cream? LOL - Not the scene, and the emotional attachment to the character? Did you cry every time the HALO commercial came on?Halo and Skyrim becasue they are so beatiful

I do agree with you that music alone will never make me cry, but it does definitely add to the overall emotion of the movie/game.

Absolutely it can add to the atmosphere and emotion. But that's about all it can do is help to set the mood.[QUOTE="bessy67"][QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"]Really, the music alone made you cry like a 4 yr old little girl that had just dropped her ice cream? Yeah, Halo's music can get emotional sometimes, though, I never cry. It's great music and one of the reasons why I enjoy the Halo series.[QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"][QUOTE="bessy67"]

SPOILER ALERT FOR GEARS OF WAR 3 ...
Gears of war, mad world almost did, also idk what music was playing when dom kills him self but that got me as well. I never cried but just made me very sad.
It's probably more the story than the music, but the 1st of the "Dreams" from Lost Odyssey (Hanna's Departure) never fails to make me misty-eyed.
