I hear about a new chip coming out for the 360. I might be a little late to the game on this one, but is there any way somebody could give me some info?
It's called the Falcon I think, it's smaller so makes less heat, so your 360 should last longer. It's also cheaper to make which is probably why we're seeing price cuts on the 360
I would like to trade my 360 in towards a Elite with the new chip, but I've done so much work on my 360 including a DIY repair job to fix three red lights that no one would want it, as long as it keeps workng for Halo 3 and Bioshock I'll be happy.

People have said there is a sticker on the box that lets you know if it's the new chip, but it's very small, and MS don't want to make a big deal about it they want people to forget about the hardware problems. They are quietly rolling it out.

I hope that when I head down to the states tomorrow, that at least one store has 360s with Falcon chips. After waiting this long to buy a 360 I'm not going to screw myself by getting a Zephyr.

The new premiums do not contain the 65nm chips. Some guy opened it and found this out for himself. We are probably not going to see them for a while. If they didn't put them in now then theres probably a good reason. Anyways every new console has the new heatsink, and I think they are doing a good job preventing the redlights because I have not heard a lot bad reports on repaired consoles.

The falcon is currently in production. You can tell if the falcon is included by looking on the sticker on the box. If you have a 360 currently and look at the info sticker on the box you will see the word Zephyr. If you look at the sticker on a 360 at your local whatever and it says Falcon then guess what?? You win a gold star.
I have a friend who bought a core system a couple of days ago and the manufacturing date was june of 06. It doesn't have the new heatsink. I think the core sysems are not being produced anymore. If you get one, you can still send it in for repairs, and they will give you the new heatsink.

the falcon chips are 65 nm chips as opposed to the current 90 nm chips which produce more heat. the 65 nm chips will make the 360 run more efficiently and at a lower temperature, hopefully getting rid of the three red light problems. the only information they have made is that the 65 nm chips will be coming out 4th quarter 2007 and they stated in a previous interview on gamespot about the chips that they will not announce when the new chips are out or when any changes to the hardware will occur.

exactly ! o theyre putting the new chips on 4 quarter of 07 because everybody is going to buy halo 3 XD
Falcon chips are not out, only difference now is that Premiums w/ HDMI have Zephyr boards and additional heatsinks that severly mitigate the failure rate of the 360.
what kind of chips will the core arcade have. incase you guys havnt heard about it it was on kotaku it was a core with a 256mb memory card a wireless conroller and 5 free arcade games, no hard drive for the same price as the core. ALso will it have an hdmi port
