classes of quality are the differences. If you ask me, stay away from pgr4, its fun, but its not Forza (not even close to it).

If you like the more arcade feel of a game, then PGR4 isnt that bad, but in my opinion it isnt as great as anyone says.

If you choose PGR, just rent it first to get an impression.

Forza 2 is arealistic drivingSim, has PGR4 is just a racing game where you have to win, Forza 2 has damage so if you hit the wall at 180MPH then you will do a lot of damage, might even loose the wheel has PGR4 if you did that you would only knock the side mirror off.

It basically boils down to Forza is a Sim and PGR is an Arcade Racer.

PGR is fast paced and Forza is more immersive.

forza is overly technical racer for sim fans.  great game if thats what you are into.     i'm sick of people hatin on pgr4.  it's a great game.  i have it.  i've played forza as well.  i'm not gonna say which is better, because they are too different.  i happen to live pgr4 better though because it fits my style of racing better.  i'd rather drive stylishly with slight sim elements than forza which is way too technical and frustrating for me.  plus i love racing the motorcycles!   forza has much more extensive costumization though.

PGR4 and Forza2 are both amazing games. The differences?

Forza Motorsport 2:

  1. Sim Racer
    • Very realistic. Tweaking the car upgrades will definitely affect its performance.
    • You have to pay a little respect with the turns. Unlike games like NFS or Burnout, ramming the wall or another car, cutting the curves by going of-road will only slow down your car.
    • Did I say ramming your car on the wall or car? Try doing it while you're at 180 mp/h, the crash might even totally wreck your car and won't move anymore. (Broken glass/windshield, hood raised & wrecked up to half of the whole front area, smoke coming out from the back...etc)
    • Damages done to car/wheels are monitored.
    • Pit stop to repair performance/refuel. (you'll only need this when you race 25-45 lap races or when you need to repair from a terrible wreck)
  2. Outstanding customization from physical appearance down to its upgrade performance.
  3. Commitment is needed.

Project Gotham Racing 4:

  1. Arcade Racer
    • No more of those technical, frustrating tweaks.
    • Almost the same driving mode with Forza 2, but damage taken won't highly affect your performance (broken glass, side mirrors hanging down, few bumps)
  2. Outstanding weather system.
  3. Tired of racing with 4 wheels, get a bike.
  4. Inside the car view (showing the steering wheel, IMO best effect when raining)
To sum it up, both are really good racing games and deserves a place in your 360 system.
