What shooter should i get?

i am planning to purchase a 360 and 2 games with it. i am definately getting gta4 but i am not sure what to get for the second game. i would preferably get a shooter. i cant afford rockband. i am not a hardcore gamer and i havent played many shooters before, but i am interested to get one. i am trying to get a simple one that is accesible for semi-begginers. so pls help me and giv me some recommendations please. thanks

Since when do hardcore gamers play alot of shooters :lol: Ive been called a hardcore gamer, but the game I play most is Rock Band xD

Anyways, Im going to say Gears of War or Battlefield: Bad Company

Get call of duty 4 it's really fun.

+3 for COD4 and +2 for Orange Box! Both great games that will keep you busy for months to come!Simsfreak14

tactical shooter: rainbow six vegas- i dont know if its classified as "hardcore" or not.

Just get COD 5 when it comes out halo 3 or Gears of war 2

If u get Gears of war 2 first get 1

If your online Bad Company...

if not get Mass Effect

For FPS [First person shooters] go for: ( in no particular order)

Halo 3 - amazing singleplayer, online play is a bit lacking in the eyes of the halo community

Call of Duty 4 - currently the #1 Xbox live game meaning awesome multiplayer. Also has a pretty sweet singleplayer

Bioshock - not your run of the mill FPS, but its still entertaining. If you're into "thrillers" or "creepy/disturbing" games

Bioshock is for you. You can also utilize special powers that change gameplay altogether...which makes me a bit

hestitant to give it full title of FPS...but more of an FPS/RPG hybrid.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 - Now I personally have only played this game at a friends house, but it was pretty awesome for the

small amount of time that I played it. Has a good singleplayer/co-op and also a pretty good

online mutiplayer aswell.

If you want a TPS [thrid person shooter] than go for:

Gears of War - great visuals and awesome co-op/singleplayer. Online play is lacking...and replay value to some is low.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - although it is a bit old, I still think this is a pretty good game. GRAW 2 was a big

letdown...but this has fun singleplayer and an entertaining co-op mode.

ugh and I guess I could list more.. but thats a lot of typing.. haha

If you plan to join the Live Community, pick up COD4. If not, go with BioShock!

Halo 3, best game ever (On the 360)Tokeism

Halo 3, COD4, Battlefield:BC, Gears of War, Orange Box, or Bioshock.

For online value i would suggest halo 3 or cod 4...

For storyline value, defidently bioshock or orange box

if you're a fan of point and shoot, Halo 3 is definately a must try!
but if you're into the tactical shooters then something like COD 4 or Rainbow Six Vegas

errr! Worng! COD4 isn't a tactical shooter, it's a run n gun type of shooter!

I'd say the best games would be Cod4, Halo3, BF: Bad Company, and Gears of war. I'm not to sure what to suggest, perhaps Gears of War since it has an awesome 2nd game coming out (Gow2) and wont start you in confused like Halo3 (without knowing the series.)
