What should my first game for xbox 360 be?

getting one in soon what should i get.

theres such a variety im confused what to get.

I've narrowed it down.

- I dont want a racing game.

- nothing scary

It depends what sort of games you're in to.

Call of Duty4 is a really good FPS game, and has overtaken Halo3 in the most played on xbox live now I believe.
3rd Person, Assassin's Creed is awesome as is Gears of War. If you wanna play online as well Gears is a solid choice as there is no online for Assassin's.
Guitar Hero or Rock Band (if its out in your country) are good choices for fun games.

halo 3 for me although cod4 is alright i hated gears.you should get RV6
