Re-Core, Sea of Thieves, Gears Ultimate edition, Sunset Overdrive, Halo Wars 2 are all coming to PC to join Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, and Ryse. Rumor is that Forza Horizon 2, Scalebound, Quantum Break, etc... might also come to PC.

I ask you fellow X1 owner, what is the point of Xbox One? Why is Microsoft doing this?

Because everyone doesn't want or have a gaming PC. I don't understand pc ppl that keep asking this question. You aren't going to build a pc for $400 total that will play any of these games

I think consoles and PC are (in general) two different markets, and MS can safely target both. If MS plays their cards right, the coupling of Windows 10 and X1 could be very beneficial to both sides. I personally would love to see more cross-play games (really disappointed Gears: UE isn't one).

I'm not even sure if exclusives are the biggest factor in owning a console. The X360 was arguably the best console of last gen, and it had very few true exclusives. The PS4 is an absolute beast this gen, and it doesn't have many exclusives yet either.

But you're right in the sense that if you have a good PC, there may not be a very compelling reason to own an Xbox One. Sunset Overdrive as far as I know is not coming to PC (at least it hasn't been announced yet). There will always be rumors of X1 exclusives headed to PC, but that doesn't make them true. I think we'll definitely see a PC release of Quantum Break. I have a harder time seeing Forza Horizon 2 and Scalebound.

@Ross_the_Boss6: I personally think plug and play is a bigger factor in owning a console than exclusives. Some people just want to play games they don't care about bleeding edge tech. They want to sit on the couch and blow off some steam gaming. They don't want to assemble and tinker on components or troubleshoot technical issues or worry about buying upgrades.

Totally agree and I think there has to be some insecurity issues on their part. Because seriously, I just can't see myself dumping a ton of cash into a PC just for gaming!

I don't knock it but don't keep questioning us because we don't choose to do the same thing.

First most of those games you mention aren't going to PC. Re-core, Scalebound, Forza Horizon 2, and Sunset Overdrive are most likely not ever going to the PC.

@oflow:

Umm yeah you can. I can build a PC for $400 that is better than console. I can build it in less than 1 hour. I can even give you the parts off the bat. I build my friend a recent $450 PC and that included mouse and keyboard and speaker as well with no tax. That was the final price. It could still be less.

@thehotsung8701a: The OS alone costs $100 so I really doubt it. So you are saying you bought ram, power supply, mobo, gpu, cpu, case, fans, hdd, dvd and a monitor for $300? Maybe possible I guess but its gonna be a crap rig that you'd be better off instead just getting the console. You are also over looking the other part of my statement wher I said a lot of people dont like building them or dont want to play on pc.

@oflow:

No monitor don't count like TV don't count for console. CPU and and GPU have special bundle that help you save extra and they are the most expensive components off a PC. Ram, PSU, Case, HDD, DVD are not very expensive. I agree that console is easier and less hassle and that why I'm leaving PC. I also hate playing on PC, doesn't feel like a dedicated gaming experience.

I have a mid-tier gaming pc but something about console gaming is more appealing to me, I just don't know what it is.

@xanatos357:

I do know what it is and it the reason I'm moving back to console. Though my 7 year old top of the line gaming PC has worst spec than console so that help :)

What's the point of Xbox One? People who prefer playing on an Xbox One and don't own or want a gaming PC. I don't see this topic ending well and I don't think it's suited for this board, next time please use System Wars. Locked.
