Looks really slick.

Holy mackrel, this looks better than it did before! Microsoft has gone in the right direction with the new UI -- although Avatars, not so sure.
But, I have to say it again: "MS better not plaster the Dashboard with ads." The main thing I hate about the current one.

I'd be ok with ads if the Gold subscription were free.
Woops. Sorry for the misleading title.
It's supposed to be what they could look like according to Major Nelson. I really hope they go with it.
Also, I hope they make it so game specific sections change to game specific theme like the pictures show with Viva Pinata and Halo 3.
They should also keep it to one theme for the main dashboard, because I think it wouldn't look very good if it changed picture every time you changed from games to prime time or my xbox.

lol, if they make it look anything like those pics then they're fine.

You can turn off the ads by going into account management

@ djphelps: Same here, but the fact is, they'll likely throw in some ugly ads completely ruining it, despite Gold members paying a subscription fee. They can put whatever they want for Silver members...
@ zinstro: No you can't, unless I've completely overlooked it.

The only time they are disabled is when you have a child account.
(unless you are talking about the new dash, if you are, link?)
*sigh* i wish they would just leave the avatars out...does anyone know if you HAVE to have an avatar or can i just stick with gamerpics???HellRazer360
Agreed. With the themes everything looks really sleek, but the whole avatar thing just doesn't seem to fit. That's what my Wii is for.
The new dashboard looks like it has loads of wasted space - I don't want to see 5 blades crushed onto one screen.
The avatars look too childish and wii-like
The blades are still there, except they are basicly vertical tabs. The new dashboard looks like it has loads of wasted space - I don't want to see 5 blades crushed onto one screen.

WIth themes it looks ALOT more interesting then the boring grey look they had at the confrence.terdooi love your signature.
[QUOTE="MuffinPunk"]I hope that your gamerpics can be turned into avatars. That would be sweet.II-FBIsniper-IIHow would that work?

i am pretty sure they said the themes and gamerpics would still work but they didn't say how

Made a mistake its not under account management. In order to turn of ads you press xbox guide button, click your tag, then you go to privacy settings, go down to microsoft marketing, and click opt out
Looks pretty slick, but I still don't like the avatars. They just seem childish and unnecessary.LanezyI agree, I just hope they are optional and you can turn them off on the dash.
