And you go on the 360 forums for this? Dont listen to all the fanboys. It just depends on what games you like. You are still getting games like Assasins Creed, Rock Band, and COd4 on the Ps3.

I really hate these kinds of questions .."what to get xbox 360 or ps3"

The only answer your gonna get is somebodys opinion which should mean nothing to you.

They both have different qualities, for me, Exclusive games for the PS3 tend to focus alot more on strong single player compaign modes whereas the xbox 360 has much better intergrated online capabilities.

My opinion is that the PS3 is a much more classical videa games systemwhereas the xbox 360 has some qualities of a P.C.

Worldwide the 360 is outselling the PS3, not sure where yourgetting your info. But it's too late for the PS3 anyway. The 360 sold so many consoles that all multiplatform titles are being made with the 360 in mind meaning that it's the standard like the PS2 was last gen. But that is just how I'm experiencing. Also it's not about consoles sold, it's about exclusives imo. And the 360 has all the exclusives I want. If your get it then youll get a big game archive with budget titles such as dead rising to begin with aswell. So see what exclusives you want, FF13 or Mass Effect, Halo 3 or Killzone 2, PGR4 or GT5 etc. The reason why I chose 360 was: Exclusives, xbox live and it having the best future expectations. But that is just me, both are fine consoles so find out what you think is important and choose for yourself.

Well Id go with the 360 due to the ease of programming for the console. Microsoft provides code to devs for xbox live while for a ps3 game to be multiplayer its up to the devs to write the code and put up servers. Not saying the ps3 is bad but if you are looking for multiplayer and longer lasting games go with the 360. As for the sales numbers its really misleading due to the 360 being available now for almost 3 years. I would be interested to see sale totals for systems since the launch of the system not just one month or week. As far as Blue Ray, buying a ps3 in hopes blue ray wins the format war would be a huge gamble. K-Mart is selling HD only and I have heard Walmart will be following.

Try 3 year warranty for red lights and I have a launch console which still works great. The majority of multi system owners is due to the refurbs those people were getting back. I do believe Microsoft stopped recycling consoles because I have 2 friends who recently recieved NEW consoles after sending theirs in.

Where are you getting this info from that PS3 is outselling the 360? 360 has outsold the ps3 every single month in North America and overall it has been outselling the PS3. Listen to the guy who said you should base your game off exclusives. In the end a lot of games are going to be going to both systems, so choose the system that has the most exclusives that pertain to your liking. Why does how much a console is selling determine your choice to buy a console? Is it because you want whats "in" or "cool". Its not like if the 360 or ps3 came last in sells this gen it would lose support like the dreamcast did.

Alright you are stupid even asking that question. Xbox360 has awesome games like Halo 3, Gears of War, and Mass Effect. The PS3 you ask has Resistance FOF thats the only good looking game on the PS3.

Why would you base the console you buy off of what other people are doing?

Look at the games and the hardware and decide for yourself. If you want Halo, Gears and Mass Effect buy a 360. If you want Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and God of War buy a PS3.

Actually... Microsoft has extended the warranty to 3 years ( I work at Best Buy...) they just did it in the past couple of months because people were having trouble with console overheating issues. These problems existed mainly in the early consoles produced. Word from the guy at my store we sent out to Cali for the big gaming expo out there is that Microsoft has since fixed the problem by making a few tweaks and changes to the insides of the console (fan placement, etc)... however I've never looked inside a brand new 360 and an older 360 to look for differences, so I couldn't tell you whether it's truth or not... I'm certainly not disassembling my 360... It was one of the launch consoles and it has worked like a gem... tried and true.

KEEP THE POWER BRICK AWAY FROM THE CONSOLE, AND GIVE IT SOME BREATHING SPACE... and you should be fine 8)

As for 360 vs PS3... probably the wrong place to ask... but definitely don't buy the PS3 for something as trivial as Blu-Ray... first of all both consoles now do 1080p... which was the "big advantage" of Blu-Ray... the new 360s (from what I've been told) are now coming with HDMI outputs, and the 1080p capability, not just the 360 Elite anymore.

Frankly, at this stage in the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD battle there is no indication of a clear cut winner. Both formats will produce 1080p images. The one advantage of Blu-Ray over other formats is the storage space. However, the storage space on the Blu-Ray disc is something that I see only games being able to take advantage of, and this is a problem for the technology. HD-DVD has several advantages at the moment over Blu-Ray. HD-DVD players are more affordable right now than Blu-Ray players. Also HD-DVD movie discs are double-sided and contain the movie in HD-DVD on one side and in regular DVD format on the other. Many consumers prefer this because they can buy one HD-DVD player for their "main" tv, and keep their current DVD players on other TVs and they only have to buy one disc, as opposed to the Blu-Ray route where the player is more expensive than its HD-DVD counterpart and the disc can only be used in that Blu-Ray player, making it useless with the existing technology they may already own.

If you're thinking what the hell does all this have to do with PS3 and 360... let me pose this to you. IF the HD-DVD technology wins out against Blu-Ray, and sales of HD-DVDs and their players increase, the sales of Blu-Ray discs and their players will decrease. If Blu-Ray isn't selling, what we have is a failed technology... Beta, LaserDisc anyone? If the Blu-Ray technology fails... you'll see players and movies pulled from shelves... and Sony will be hard up with the PS3. Both Sony and Microsoft lose money on every console they sell and neither of them have seen much, if any, actual profit from either of their endeavors with these two consoles. They are banking on the game, accessory, and online subscriber sales to balance initial losses they sustain selling the console, especially Sony. They have put a lot of time and money behind the Blu-Ray technology, and are hoping that Blu-Ray player and Blu-Ray disc sales will help absorb some of the cost of developing the technology as well as reduce the losses they take when selling a PS3 console, and with such a lackluster start... they're hurting. Take a trip down memory lane with me to the launch of the PS2... they couldn't stay on the shelves... If we rolled back to the PS2 era... even this many months after the launch we would still be having trouble getting a hold of one. The fact that you can easily walk into a store and pick up a PS3 even this many months after the launch... is probably something not sitting too well with Sony...

Keep It Simple, Stupid: Don't get caught up in the "romance" of Blu-Ray... It may or may not be here to stay...

i have both and each have their high and low points.I play pretty much only shooters on my 360 and its a blast. i use the ps3 for exclusives. most multiplat games i play are on 360 cuz almost none of my friends own a ps3. i would say now is the time when you could go either way, 360 has Gears, Halo, Mass Effect. PS3 has Resistance, Uncharted, MGS (eventually). Both have COD4, assassin's creed which are awesome games.I'd say if you could afford itget both eventually but at the moment i give the edge to the 360.

And ur not a fan boy for coming to the 360 forums to support ur PS3. Why? Because ur a PS3 fan boy.

Anyways go for the 360. The games are great, fun and then there is xbox live, arcade and many great features. You wont be dissapointed ive had mine for about 2 years now, has failed me but only twice and it wasnt because of RRoD, it was a problem with a game disac that my 360 couldnt read but i sent it in and its ok now, it is awesome. Get one with like free games or stuff like that i missed out but its ok.

The reason devs make multi plat games with the 360 in mind is they have to take the 360's usage of standard DVDs into consideration, due to the fact that BLu Ray is vastly superior in terms of storage.

any thing coming out to ps3 gets canceled or it sucks. go with 360..btw u will get 1 year warrenty for free by microsoft...BEAT THAT SONY!tacosrule193

What PS3 exclusives have gotten cancelled? Within the Next year PS3 will have Haze, Killzone 2, Uncharted, BiglittlePlanet, MGS4, Socom, Resistance 2 (possibly), among others that I cant think of right now.

Well Id go with the 360 due to the ease of programming for the console. There is no problem coding for the PS3, the problem comes in porting code from the 360 to the PS3, this is because the PS3's CPU is vastly different than the 360.

I believe that MS still holds third party publishers responsible for maintaining there own servers (I know EA has there own) they just run software given to them by MS, MS only hosts their own games, but maintains complete control over the network(no mater who the server belongs to), where as Sony has an open network allowing users to host their own media servers and allowing for user mods. And as for longevity of online games, you can still find plenty of people to play games like Resistance and Warhawk online.

I'll agree that the format war is still a toss up but Blu Ray has a couple of advantages: first it has more studios backing the format, and second, ithas the benefeit of already being in every PS3 sold.

Now as far as the "which system should I buy?" question, nobody but you can answer that. Just about every third party developer wants to go multi plat these days so you wont miss out on many games which ever you choose. If online with your friends is important I'd go with the 360 because chances are thats what they have, other than that decide which system has theexclusives you want the most.

Why would you come to a 360 forum and ask this?

But if you want my completely unbias opinion, get the 360. It has more games as well as more exclusives, it's STILL cheaper even after Sony had a price cut, Blu-Ray is pointless especially when you can get the HD-DVD player for the 360, and XBOX Live is amazing. Just get the 360, you won't be disappointed.

If that wasn't sarcasm you should jump off a bridge, Blu Ray isn't pointless, a BR disc can hold up to 200gb of data, where a standard DVD holds 4gb, space with the 360 is becoming an issue with games like UT3, sure they could start saving games to the HDD but that leaves anybody who has an arcade or a core SOL for certain games. And a 360 is not cheaper if he factors in the HDDVD player. Honeslty no one can give the TC an unbiased opinion because even if have both cosoles (like me), we all have a pre-set idea as to which one we like more, obiviosly for me I love my PS3, but the 360 is still fun to play.
