I'd like a war game set in the near future...maybe 50/80 years from now but in Call of Duty style, so that everything is realistic but a little more advanced than today, maybe perks could include invisible body armour for a short period or heat-seeking gun bullets etc...Nothing too over tha top, maybe war involving all continents, to show off all types of conditions and terrains, show, desert heat, inner city, tropical jungles...Maybe Call of Duty: To End All Warsmistykal5
Already exist.... Crysis :D

Ohh...well bring Crysis to tha 360 and I'm sorted...The War for Middle Earth.... kidding...
That or they need to make another Modern Warfare style game.
But I think a pretty decent idea would be to make up one, kinda like a what if game, maybe if Russia had won the cold war and the last countries pulled together to take them out. Or maybe a what if Germany had won. Something like that, or a complete made up war would work.
I disagree with everyone that said WWI. Trench warfare would really not be fun. It would just be you sitting around in a hole all day and every once in a while firing at another hole across from yours. That's really not fun if you think about it. As for a war being made into a game, I think Vietnam is the best option because almost everything else has been done to death. Please... no more WWII shooters for a while.wwervin
AGREED! I am sick of everyone saying a WW1 game would be so cool. It is the dumbest idea for a FPS. All you do is sit in a trench and wait for someone's head to pop out, charge through no man's land and get shot down by an machine gun, or wait in a bunker while the enemy's artillery hits your position for days on end. It is like seeing an action movie where everything interesting is happening around the protaganist, but the protaganist himself does absolutely nothing.
If people like the Vietnam idea, they should play Battlefield:Vietnam. That was a really fun game and it would be nice if some other company expanded on their original game
No future sh*t I hate unrealistic stuff. Invasion on the us would be sweetSharpshoota202that would be pretty awesome! :D
Agreed. An extremely well done and graphic Vietnam title would be excellent.
Been waiting for years for one.
NinjaiOfDeath
The most epic war to ever not have a video game: Pirates vs. Ninjas.FloydianBradLMAO - Ninjas would definitely win - that is if they were able to get aboard the pirate vessels. As long as the pirates stay on their ships though and shoot canonns at the the trees the Ninjas were hiding in - well then the priates would win. HMmmm - come to think of it that could actually make a decent game for real if it was done in a comical style. LOL
There have been a few Vietnam games. None of them were very good. Battlefield Vietnam was ok, at best.
If you're looking for a US invasion game you could try Freedom Fighters which was amazing or Turning Point which was terrible.

Actually that's a pretty good idea. They could do it Red Dawn style - that could actually make a pretty sweet game.
PS - SciFi future stuff is the absolute best though. If you want reality - step outside and join the military.
o.O Why has no one said Revolutionary War??I think these types of wars would make great strategy games - but not shooters. Who wants to shoot and then take 30 seconds to reload your muzzleloader before shooting again. :)
How epic would it be to ride on horseback to your battles, and then have whopping Muzzleloaders to fight the Redcoats with!
Sure, the technology is a little off, but it could go into a deeper perspective of the colonial fighters :D
You could also have a Civil War game...but it might be too controversial :lx-chump-x
A new Vietnam or WWI game. They don't have many and it's a good idea. I highly doubt any American company will make a Vietnam game because they lost the war. Get over it! Just no more WWII games. It makes no sense why America keeps making games based off of a time that everyone else wants to forget. Probably because it was the last war they did any good in and fought a REAL threat instead of just going into a developing country, stomping on their faces and leaving at the time that the country has to eat it's own dead.
Back to the topic. I think that the perfect war game would be a Vietnam game that has a great cover system, a THIRD-person view, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter-esque action, insane realism, amazing graphics, perfect physics, no visual glitches, excellent controls, REAL character creation, a great story and great multiplayer with RPG-style leveling. The single-player would be developed by Ubisoft Shangai and the multi-player by Ubisoft Montreal. It would be avaliable on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, PSP and Mobile.
I prefer made up ones, since story can be implemented the best in those and most wars have already been implemented over and over. It would be cool to play the war that went on in Fallout 3, 200 years before you exit the vault. N0hanNow that is the best idea I've heard yet!!! The Fallout Wars Heck yeah - that idea rocks!!!

What wars should be made into games next? I am dieing for a good vietnam war game. I also think a hypothetical invasion on America would be pretty cool. Also a World War I game would be sick. stupid4WWI would b awful. Trench fighting and biplanes? Not my cup of tea. Also they already made an invasion on america game and it sucked. remember Turning Point:Fall of Liberty? Vietnam would b more of like the old Medal of Honor games in those pacific jungle levels.
What I really want those is a good Sword and Sandals War game. Maybe an RPG set in Alexander, Caesars, or Leaonidas' time where you can have online 4 player co op. Large scale battle in vast fields and whatnot. That would be epic.Mez-Siah
I agree i would like some sort of war game with swords on a large battlefield or whatever. I would aso like a big number of people fighting at once and maybe some horses and stuff. That would be epic indeed.

How about a Jedi Knight (FPS guns, 3rd Person melee) style saga spanning the colonial era? Eastern N American, Latin American, African, and South Asian theatres of war with two or three sides per theatre; natives vs. primary colonial power vs. optional secondary colonizers. A short narrative campaign for each region, plus COD or Battlefront-style objective-based multiplayer. The fact that most guns are muzzle-loaders would pretty much only make them an option for defensive positions, which could lead to some awesome bayonet-on-sword/tomahawk melees.
Now that I mention it, this is pretty much a grunt's-eye-view of Empire: Total War. Still awesome. Then you could throw in an expansion or sequel covering the American revolution and the Napoleanic wars.:!
