What would you have named the new MS system?

Although I generally like my 360 I have come to the conclusion that it's name is bland. "Xbox" was a poor choice although admittedly not near as bad as WonderSwan. Adding a 360 was about as inspired as adding "2" or "3".

My ideas are :Microsoft Phoenix or Microsoft Phantom.

So PS1, PS2, PS3 are bland? I think sticking to traditional brand naming is better. Instead of coming with some horrendous name that will turn off many gamers. I think Xbox 360 is perfect. I wouldnt have it any other way.

Keep in mind, these are professionals. They thought this through way more than you have. None of the console names in our history of gaming has disappointed me yet. Even the dreamcast sounded good. And Sega Genesis. But of all systems, Sega probably pushed the envelope the most concerning system names.

Oh definitely they have thought it through more than me-- that's what they do. There probably were many iterations and a lot market research before finally settling. PlayStation 2 and 3 are bland names it's much more like a software release than an actual evolution. I totally agree with the statement about Sega names-- the Genesis is a great name.
