Episode Three would be the last in the add-on episodes for Half Life 2. As for Half Life 3, who knows... whether VALVe will try and wrap up the story in HL2:Ep3, or have it all conclude in a new Half Life.
I love Half-Life soooo much I would hope episode 3 wouldn't be the last in the Half Life saga. I just don't see Valveending such a goodfranchise...I do suspect their will be an Half-Life 3 though, you know to kinda take the whole series out in a bang.
There has to be a HL3 because valve doesnt have anything else. Thats it for them, HL is their bread and butter. Im guessing the Episodes are only out to pay for HL3 which has either started dev or will before to long. We'll know soon enough as Im sure someones in the process of stealing it from Gabe again.
Yeah, I think they will make a Half-Life 3 just to end it in one amazing game. Episode 3 (Spoilers if you haven't beat Episode 2) will end with Gordon and Alyx making it to Aperture Science and finding the portal gun. Half-Life 3 will have Gordon using the portal gun in combat to defeat the combine and any other evil alien race or zombies. Since Valve has put so much into this series I think they will actually end it with an amazing full length experience.
well i dont think HL2 or any of the eps will be the end of the seris as a whole i mean there still so much uncovering that could be done but i think it would be cool if HL 3 introduced a new main character but it probably wont

Well the episodic content stops at 3 just because the dev. thought it would take to long to make a whole new half life(ep.1,2,3 combined) so they split it up to give the gamers more over time. For a sequel to ep3 im preety sure they will move on to HL3 or maybe some sort of spin off(i hope not). All we can do Is cross our fingers and pray for HL3

Not likely, the episodes suck. Actualy, episodes 1, 2 and 3 have been confirmed by Gabe Newel (co. creator of valve) to make up Half-Life 3 and he has been reported to have said "I wish we had called them Half Life 3: Episode 1 etc." And also, always reffers to the episodes as Half Life 3.
