The Zune is an amazing little device. It can even connect to your 360 and stream music from it without copying it to your hard drive.
When it comes to features, the Zune has the iPod on it's hands and knees. I mean, seriously: when's the last time Apple beat Microsoft at something?
[QUOTE="OspreyDawn"]i hate it when people say something is a joke but dont explain.Zune's a joke.
Get a new iPod if you have to but don't get a Zune.

Ditto. I can accept opinions, but it makes me die a little when people don't explain themselves properly.

Really?
More memory for a smaller price
Built in radio
wireless streaming so you can send other Zunes pictures and music
Big ass screen
customizable backgrounds.
I'd say iPod is the joke

Your kidding right?Well this not a place for an Apple vs M$
Back on topic it all comes down to features you want on your MP3 player. Zune has more than an iPod but the iPod has better software package (iTunes vs Zune is not even a far battle). However the whole music sharing thing is a joke since I don't know one person or have seen one person that owns a zune. As for sexiness I feel like iPod wins.
My personal opinion is that they both suck. I have an iPod but I still prefer a CD player, the sound quality is just much more superior.

What are you talking about? The Zune software is awesome and now it's completely bug free.

I agree with you for the most part, except I don't believe either of them suck. iTunes is superior to Zune software in just about every way, and the whole wireless Zune community thing is moot because there is no community, figuratively speaking of course. As for sound quality, the headphones that come with the iPod are pretty good, and I really don't think it sounds too bad. Sure a CD player has better sound quality, but just like how Compact Discs replaced vinyl records despite a drop in quality, MP3 players have essentially replaced CD players for sheer portability.[QUOTE="Making_Pudding"]The Zune is an amazing little device. I'll address the points you so eloquently put forward.
You say: You're kidding, right?
I say: No, not really.
You say: Zune has more (features) than the iPod but the iPod has a better software package.
I say: Right. Because the most important thing in an MP3 player isn't what you can do with it, but how you get the music into it. I hope you note the sarcasm.
You say: The whole music sharing thing is a joke since I don't know one person with a zune.
I say: This must mean that NO ONE owns a Zune besides me. Look up the availability heuristic on WikiPedia.
I respect your opinion, but by putting "Your kidding, right?", you directly involved me and I felt I had to respond.

He said that specific sentence because your post sounded incredibly fanboyish. And he never said one was better than the other, he stated the pros and cons of each device, as was intended for the thread in the first place. In my opinion, this furthers the discussion and is much more valid than your, "I mean, seriously: when's the last time Apple beat Microsoft at something?".
I have a Zune and love not paying for every song in regards to the OP.

I see you're one of these people that weild the word "fanboy" as if it were a weapon. I have little respect for those that use the word, especially when what appears to be an intelligent person uses it.
I like the Zune. Why do I like the Zune? For the reasons I stated above. I admit that my post was one-sided, mainly because I truly believe that the Zune is worth the money for all it's functionality. You get the same amount of space for less money.
The Apple vs. Microsoft comment was a joke. Evidently, not everyone has a sense of humor.
