Whats up with all these november "big name games" getting low scoreS???? assassins creed, kane and lynch , prostreet, wwe smackdown? , soldier of fortune? whats up with that???rdeemed23
assasins creed has a 9 from gamespot.. I dont even make choices by readin the reviews/previews anymore. I have my own opinion.
Well AC got a mixed score of high and decent. So i guess its one of those games that you either love or sort of like. I wouldnt really consider Kane & Lynch a high profile game, and Smackdown is only high profile for big fans of the "sport".
I would mention the others but i already 4got them as i am posting this, so i guess they cant be high profile :D. haha
i agree with killerfist
but the one time i did stray from reviews i got burned.
I was so hyped for Spiderman 3 cuz i like 2 so much, but when it came out and got poor reviews, i was like w/e im sure ill like it anyway. It wasnt that great and i really wished i hadnt spent $60 on it.
Personal opinion definitely should be valued over reviews, but i think reviews make a good measuring stick

so true...what can you expect? coming from gamespot. They just picked their favorite games. Go visit other sites if you want to see more reasonable ratings (gamerankings is a good place to start). Anymore I don't make my decisions on whether to buy a game solely on Gamespot's review. They are biased. Its not an opinion its been seen again and again. Then again all review sites are biased.

EVERY review/preview is based on opinions. there is no exeption. look at hotdoggin's brilliant post. thats the way to do it.
I dont bother with the reviews anymore, three times gamespot have rated games badly but ive really liked them when i played them, plus gamespot, ign etc always judge there reviews on the small bad things and not the really good things that make up for it. So basically what im saying is just ignore the reviews and if a low rated game does suck, then oh well s**t happens. :)
