ok im sure this has been asked but i didnt see it but whats that like one circled next to our gamertag my friend has a 4 so what is it?

That means how long you have been a member of Xbox Live. Your friend has been for 4 years.. But at the moment... its really messed up and not reliable.

It's not technically messed up, they just didn't really do it in the best way to do it. I believe from how it sounds from my experience and a good number of friends...if you have let your account go silver at all it will reset the number. I got mine when it released in 2002, but shows a 4. Why? Because in August of 2005 I let it go Silver for a month because I came to college (quickly realized it was a bad decision). So far, out of people I personally know, there isn't anything "messed up" with their numbers.

But I just got gold again last month after having silver for like 3 months and it says '2' for mine though... and I have been on live for like 3 years before I went to silver... hmm.
