Just wonder and I searched but I could not find a poll on the question so that theres a easy to find answer. I know this has been discussed to death at this point and I really just want the poll results but If you want to explain thats fine.

Although I don't like any of them, the 499$ price tag did it for me. No thx.

I think they should do away with the connection required, but it's not going to stop me from buying one. Also, what the hell is DRM. Ive heard it so much lately, but Ive got no idea what it is.

Nothing has entirely discouraged me from getting one, but the cost is an issue especially since it's likely a result of kinect's required inclusion.

The 24 hour check in bothers me too, but there has to be more details about this that haven't been announced. It just doesn't seem possible.

Sony waited until MS had made many aspects of their console known, then came in and basically said "here is why ours is better." I'd rather be sold on a console that stands on it's own rather than one that mostly advertises directly against another machine, however, I'm not sold on either one.

They'll both be powerful and great gaming machines I'm sure, but both companies are very commited to turning consoles into multimedia machines that place the focus on things not video game related, and I have trouble supporting that approach.

Part of me was (foolishly) hoping Sony would really shock the world and release a console that does nothing but play video games/movies/cds like the XBOX/PS2. That would have taken some real guts and commitment to the craft; Sony did nothing special in my mind by saying "Xbox will suck for these reasons, and the PS4 won't suck because it's opposite of why the Xbox will suck." No, they both suck because the industry does, and gaming is about choosing between evils at this point.

I kind of respect MS for 'going first' so to speak, but really what does it matter what gamers would change about either system? They haven't really been listening to us for years...

The Kinect camera/microphone and the way it handles used games are the reason I will never own an Xbox One.

I could deal with the $500 price tag (although I think it will hurt sales badly, and is not a wise move) but the Kinect and used game nonsense is a 100% deal breaker for me.

As a huge fan of the Xbox 360, it's all very disappointing to me, especially after watching Microsoft's very impressive E3 presentation yesterday. Lots of great looking games on display, but again, I will not be purchasing a One, so I will just have to sit this generation of "Xbox" out.

Thanks for nothing, Microsoft. lol

DRM/24 hour check in bullshit. I have a summer place, and at nights it can get boring having no internet and a few tv stations. The Xbox One can't play games in that situation. Doesn't that suck? I mean I've been gaming for over 25 years. It was normal to bring a console around and play games without checking in. It was a beautiful thing to trade or borrow games with friends. Times are changing for the worse.

Truth.

I still think the 'always online' thing will change in some way. MS will literally lose many customers for this alone, people who have been loyal to MS for years, and the restriction wouldn't be tough to get rid of entirely by the time the machine releases. They could be backpedalling (happens all the time in this industry) as we speak, we just won't know until the thing goes up for sale. But alienating the entire internet-less community will hurt their cause far more than MS is convincing themselves it won't.

If they do stick with it as it is now, I'll be upset, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. Yet. I am not planning to buy either anywhere near launch, so I'm going to really give it some time.

Price tag and 24 hour check in. X1 wouldn't be on my shopping list when I upgrade to a 3d blu-ray player i.e. PS4 would be a candidate on my shopping list.

I think Microsoft shot themselves in the foot.I also think they should rethink on what their doing and listen to what the loyal Xbox players are all saying.I don't think it is a question of what's the biggest mistake Microsoft did,it's ovious they made numerous bad ideas.

I voted "Other."  The price tag and Kinect have turned me off big time.  While there are many who may enjoy voice commands or waving their hands about or whatever, it's just not my thing.  I prefer to sit down with a controller and just play.  That's why my Wii is collecting dust (and I'm not dropping $40-$50 for a classic controller).  I've read a few different things about Kinect and I'm hoping it is purely optional entirely.  If it is, I may consider the system down the road after a price drop.

Oh and I'm not fond of the used game/DRM stuff or the check in.  But I can tolerate those to an extent, even though I argue against both.

Forced Kinect, price, inability to play 360 titles/arcade games.

They need an arcade version that doesn't come with Kinect so it can be cheaper and it has to be able to play the hundreds of titles I own on xbl. If they made this I would be on board.

I couldn't possibly choose one. Every one of those could cause massive problems either in the future or depending on where people live.

Im not sure the 24 hour thing is a big deal to me. I play with my xbox signed on all the time. It would suck if my internet just stopped working for weeks but I can't think of a time where that happened.

The more I think about it the drm becomes less of a justifiable complaint. Why is this bad for xbox but acceptable for PC? I want used games and that's probably the biggest reason Im against it, I guess, which it's not even out right killing. Just making it more difficult.

The more I think about it the less I want to get a PS4. I don't want any of it's exclusives. Those downloadable games are only timed exclusives, so long as Transistor goes PC or 360 Im fine.

I can hold out on xbox one till Halo 5 comes out then when that happens hopefully something has changed.  I don't need to get Halo 5 at launch but Im a big fan of the series and so I will get an Xbox One at some point, even if it's just to get that one game.

Halo, Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear are all on the same system, this is like a dream.  It's too bad the Xbox One has a few lame policies

The 24/h check is kind of extreme. I can deal with I can't triad my games but telling me I have to have Internet or my games won't work is bs. They are treating us paying customers like criminal. I understand the need to protect and Secure their platform, there are people that will hack the Xbox and find a way around the drm and play free games. This is a small % of people compared to the grand scheme of things, this 24/h check won't stop these type of people. It only stops us legitimate paying customers, this tells me MS doesn't see the Xbox one as a gaming Machine, they see it as a all in one media box. They are selling this product to dads, moms not the people that have supported their Xbox since 2001.

The used game policy. Yes, I know they claim there will be used games, but they're very vague about it and there will be some sort of "fee." That's ridiculous. I don't mind the connection thing actually, since I don't plan on pirating anything so I have nothing to worry about. But I never buy $60 games, esp when you can wait 6 months and get them for a fraction of the price (case in point: I really wanted AC3 and the new Tomb Raider games, but since they're 1-player, I knew people would tire of them quickly and then return them - look at their prices on amazon now).

I have a solid Internet connection 90% of the time, I have experienced dropouts for two days form time to time. For the most part I don't think it would be a issue at all for me. But,the idea is you don't really own your games, they may as well go 100% digital download but can't because the big retailers would give it much support. There are like Netflix, thinking ahead too soon and it's backfiring n them PR wise. The system still may sell like great, I still want one myself as I can get over all the Restrictions, but I will Most definitely 100% buy a PS4 first and get the Xbox one years later when it's cheaper.

Paying more for a weaker system because of the forced inclusion of a lame camera that had to date added nothing to gaming that also treats you like a criminal is pretty easy to bitch about.

Although personally I could care less about the check-in, what it seems to represent to the angry online people is huge.

As insulting as Microsoft has been to it's "core" fanbase, I think the cherry on top has been the recent quotes from them stating that only a small % of people actually care about things like DRM, privacy-invading Kinect cameras and always-on requirements, and that those people can basically kiss Microsoft's ass, because the system is going to sell well even without them.

Even if all of those things were true, that is a hell of a way to treat the people that got you to where you are. I happen to think it is NOT true, and I think that the used game controversy is going to trickle down to even the "average Joe", and that it will be enough to hurt sales of the console over the long term, but only time will tell.

People also need to remember that game publishers want things like "no used game sales", so anger must be directed at them, as well. Microsoft simply gave them what they wanted this generation, loyal customers be damned. They can spin it any way they like it, but they chose publishers over consumers, plain and simple. All I can hope for now is that it brings them to their knees, and serves as an example of what NOT to do for generations to come.

For and extra $100, I expect the games to look better than the PS4. As of now, they don't, and that's a little nutty.

Well that's because the Xbone is less powerful. The extra $100 is for Kinect.

Price doesn't bother me as I know that MS always sells their game systems at a loss.  The XBOX division is a gigantic money losser for MS.  They don't mind because they have the money and winning "the media center war" is one of their key aims.

As much as no off-line access is a deal breaker and as much as I hate charges for used games, MS could still win this one quickly by either reversing these policies or signing with my cable TV supplier.  If I could use XBOX ONE as a true media center for all my video recording and storage needs, I would be back in in a heartbeat.

after reading all these posts it really gets me wondering is MS feeling this backlash and if they are why not change the policies sooner then later. Right now if they said that we could buy and sell used games I think I would be on board instead of switching sides. Idk if I would buy it first though because unless ms change the drm and check in policy I dont think it will sell well. If it doesnt sell well initially then people can expect a price cut sooner then later and thats when I would buy

Mandatory Kinect (tied in with the online requirements. who knows really what kind of info they are sending MS) is a deal breaker for me. I'm not normally a paranoid private person, but I don't trust Microsoft THAT much.

I'm sure MS knew they would get backlash by their attitude about Internet required " don't have Internet get a 360". In the grand scheme of things MS isn't trying to sell the Xbox as a gaming console, they are going for a all in one media box that happens to play games. They want to take over your living room and have you using your X1 as much as you use your cable box. I believe the way they have Designed the X1 you will need Internet to get the full experience, but to bock games because you haven't checked is a major drawback. Then the limited used games policy's combined with its price and its a perfect storm of a deal breaker. I can look past all the crap but I know I won't be buying a X1 until it gets some price cuts.

I like the X1, and love my 360 and Live. But, having Microsoft tell me when and how I can use a machine I will pay 500 bucks for is a deal breaker. It's too bad, I was really looking forward to continuing with a new XBOX. The 24 hour check in thing is assinine.
