I havent played an online game for years and am thinking about buying a 360 for this very purpose. I am a British expat living in the U.S. and one of my favourite games is the FIFA series (Soccer). Since the sport is not very popular here, I am going to have to play folk from across the pond. My question is quite general and doesnt have to be related to FIFA 09. I was wondering if gameplay between the two continets are possible or is lag still a big issue?

you wont even be able to tell whether they are across the road, or across the world. it all depends on that specific persons internet connection really.

i think ur wrong, soccer is popular in the states its just not as popular as fotball.i have all fifa version for the 360 and i have played with many people from all over the world and i can tell you that it mainly depends on the persons internet connection.i have played many matches with people from europe and its plays like if you were playing with someone next to you. but if you get a 360 and u want a smooth connection make sure no one else is connected to the internet in ur house so it wont interrup ur connection.

Personal internet connections is what creates lag. If your buddies have poor internet your game will lag. However, if you all have a decent connection it doesn't matter where they live your game will work flawlessly.
