"Original"? As in Xbox originals? Those are games that were for the original Xbox that were made available to purchase on Xbox live.

I'm assuming by "Platinum" you mean a Platinum hits game. A game that is a Platinum Hit is a game that has had it's price reduced and has sold very well.

And I can't imagine where you got the term gold from, except maybe Xbox live gold which is just a service for the xbox console that allows you to play games online, grants access to special weekly discounts for downloadable content, chat with friends, ect.

No. For example i want to buy call of duty but theirs three versions. One is the original game the other is platinum and the other is gold. These show up as options on Amazon. So i want to know the difference and wich one is best to get.

Never mind, I looked it up for you.

The only Call of Duty title that came out with a "Gold Edition" was Call of Duty 3. It comes with a bonus disc and a free map pack. Thats probably your best deal although if you get it used don't expect to get the free map pack. And it's really no big deal since hardly anyone who still plays Call of Duty 3 now a day have the map packs. They actually still cost money and so hardly anyone has actually bought them among those that play so the likeliness of getting a match on one of those maps is probably near zero.

This "Gold Edition" is just particular to this game. Gold Editions aren't a standard thing for games like Platinum hits are.

The standard version and platinum are the same thing. Some times Platinum Editions come with bonus content, like how the original Gears of War's Platinum edition came with a bonus disc and both of the map packs, but most of the time the Platinum hits version is just the same thing.

One way to look at gold would be fallout new vegas going gold meaning the game is complete and being shipped to the factorys to be actually put on discs and mass manufactured.

So going gold just means it really sold alot of prints? Kinda like when mucic albums go platinum because of the albums bought, Interesting. But some do include extra material.

No. I already told you what the gold edition is. What the poster before you was referring to is when a game is completed and and the discs are being pressed. It's not some sort of editions, it's just a term. I already explained that a platinum hit is a game that has sold well and so it gets discounted and put under the Platinum hits label and is the same thing. Were you really that ready to just dump everything I just told you out of your brain?
