Getting all the pigeons in Grand Theft Auto IV and all the diamonds in Far Cry 2. I guess they aren't always necessarily hard (if you cheat) to me it was a pain in the lower lower backside.

Vidmaster Endure, due to the terrible lagginess of Firefight, their was almost always a disconection near the end, the almost part being the time we actually finished. I have never played Firefight since then, only the part that it is Halo makes people like Firefight, when it infact sucks, in my opinion anyway.
Oh ya, a disconection makes the game end, that is why it sucked since it would end so much.
Burnout Paradise: Criterion Elite - it is basically completing everything in the game all the way to 101% (why it goes to 101% i dont know but it does)

I guess Mile High Club, but I got alot of time consuming achievements like Veteran Gear on Gears 2, Seriously 2.0 on Gears 2, Key to the City on GTA IV, TBOGT: Gold Star on GTA IV TBOGT, and a bunch more.
200/200 on N+ might have been the one I had the toughest time with. I don't look at YouTube or anything for outside help so it was a chore trying to figure out some of the harder stages. I didn't really have a good time doing it either and it caused me to really become more picky about going after tough achievements.
The original Seriously. Specially getting it later on in the life cycle of gears, when you had to go far beyond 10k kills to get it. I probably had about 12k or 13k when I finally got it.

I remember plenty of times me and my buddy would be on a rampage, getting like 18 kills a match, and they wouldn't even add on to my total. So.. my total is at like 13k or whatever, who knows how many it really should be.

wasn't really that hard, took like 20 minutes, a couple tries.. just had to get the pattern down. It was a cool fun achievement tho. When my buddy first did it in time he shot the terrorist in the foot (as he had done it on normal) and the game told him real veterans go for head shots, and he didn't get the achievement.. was pretty hysterical.

Insanity : Gears of war 2 was very diffiicult Mass Effect 2 :insanity Forza 3 : race in every track those aren't the hardest these are just on top of my head
Going by trueachievements my hardest is "Meritorious" in Battlefield 2 Modern Combat: Achieve the maximum star rating in 20 missions or challenges.

that modern combat achievement :shock: that is a very hard achievement, and it is kind of similar to MW2, except way way way harder haha
my hardest would have been 500 revives in far cry 2 ranked MP, that took some time and effort
I just went back and beat the last mission in BF2 Modern Combat and that mission is a million times harder then the CoD games on veteran. I was going to try for max staring all challenges and missions but it's impossible and just makes me wanna break the game in half.

Get through FEAR without dying at all, and turning off the console doesnt work it saves the game as you die, it was freaking brutal. I got to the end twice and died 5 minutes before the end credits!

whats so hard about it?
The first part you have 10mins to disable 2 computers in bunkers about 1-2min walking distance from each other. Both bunkers have 4+ turrets above it as well as 10+ guys on foot with shotguns and assault rifles. The AI on them cheats and can shoot through all of your cover (shipping containers, concrete walls etc.). If you do manage to get by them and into a bunker even if you wiped them all out your ally AI just stays above like a bunch of retards and you have to go down stairs and kill another 10+ guys in a small area and they 1 shot you with shotguns. If you die you swap to the nearest AI (sometimes 1min walking distance back) and then about 80% of the time the enemies you were killing will respawn.
The second part if you manage to do the first.. 5min time limit and you have about a 1-2min walk / drive to get to a building that has another 10+ guys and you have to walk up catwalks to the objective. On the way to the building there is a helicopter shooting you, about 3 or 4 tanks, 2 turrets as well as guys on foot. Your AI yet again does nothing and if you die you get that 1min walk back again and some random enemy respawns. After you pass all that then you just have to swap to a sniper when you get to the top and laser designate the tower.
Just beating the mission is annoying enough but to get max stars on it you have to do it under a certain amount of time, under a certain amount of deaths, with a high enough score and high enough accuracy, Oh and the entire thing has no checkpoints so if you fail the 5min part you have to do it from the start again. It's pretty much the only mission I need max stars on and you have to do it as both NATO and China so twice. It just makes me want to snap the game in half so I doubt I'll bother with it.

short time limit, a lot of enemies, not enough useful allies, you can only take a small amount of damage...should i go on?
