Are their any insanely difficult games to beat on the 360. I feel as though most games are a cake walk even on the hardest difficulty. I don't mean sound like I am amazing at every game (defiantly not), I just mean are their any games without allot of check points or regenerating health bars that take skill to beat.

yeah i was thinking the same as the above posts. and then i thought MEGAMAN 9 (or 10). I was totally NOT convinced to buy it after playing the demo. Megaman games have always just been frustrating from the difficulty, not fun.

Since Ninja Gaiden was mentioned already I'd say The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai is a pretty tough game, or at least I found it difficult.

It's an arcade game in the marketplace.

i agree with this. Ninja gaiden 2 on its hardest difficulty is the hardest game ive ever played

This, although the problem is that NG2's difficulty often comes from cheap deaths like off screen enemies and the boss's are extremely incosistant. Sometimes they'll kick your ass without letting you get more than a hit or two in, then you'll try again and for some reason beat the boss easily.

Dead Space 2 on Impossible is very tough if you don't use new game+. Devil May Cry 4 is pretty tough on the highest difficulty. Dragon Age is extremely hard on the highest difficulty, requires a lot of strategy.

Also Resident Evil 5's professional mode (highest difficulty) can be pretty tough if you don't use infinite ammo weapons.

Really? *is skeptical* Haven't played NV but FO3 on very hard wasn't hard at all if you had a decent character with decent weapons and used some strategy.

Unfortunately console games aren't made with anyone as hardcore as you in mind. I'd like to see more shooters based on skill rather than loading a checkpoint enough times to figure out you to avoid the poorly designed AI's cheap tactics.

He's probably just poking fun at all of the glitches in the game. But I love how you say console games aren't made for the hardcore when I doubt you've mastered every tough console game...

And what are some shooters that are based off skill rather than exploiting the AI like you say?

while an xbox 1 game it is avaiable on xbox live for download. metal arms glitch in the system on its nuts of steel mode. should take you about 1-2 years of trying to beat that blasted game. i swear there are like 15 utterly impossible levels. one level is known for stumping people for months. honestly took me probably about 18 months to beat that game on nuts of steel. it is just utterly ridiculously insane. and not really in the cheap way either the AI just generally kicks your head in. so you want insanely hard try that game while i havent played ninja gaiden 1 or 2 for some odd reason im not banking on it being worse than nuts of steel mode on metal arms glitch in the system.

Not my kind of game, but I have heard that Dragon Age: Origins is very hard. For games that I have actually played though, I would say: Gears Of War 2 on Insane (GoW1 was easy, personally, but I have trouble with Insane on 2) Call Of Duty 2 and 3 on Veteran (not impossible, but VERY frustrating and uh, may as well be impossible LOL :P) Call Of Duty Classic (Again, just like 2 and 3, I completed this many times on Veteran... but on the PC. Although, I can't complete CoDC on veteran on the 360... there are no quick saves like the PC version and you have to rely on picking health packs up so it's pretty much impossible... my only achievement I haven't got on this game) Resident Evil 5 on Professional (WITHOUT any of the upgrades etc., so if you start off fresh, it is VERY tough if you're alone). That is all I can think of, at the minute.

I wouldn't say I've mastered many games, but I've played almost every popular fps/tps on 360 and beaten it on the hardest difficulty. Hardcore doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. I was saying games aren't made for anyone like the TC who wants a game with fewer checkpoints and no regenerating health. Consoles tend to have more casual gamers because they are cheaper and less complicated than PCs. Since there are so many more casual gamers, devs make more casual games because they will sell better.

I can't think of any games based on skill but I don't know anything about PC games because I can't afford a decent PC. My comment about AI was basically just to say that I don't like how most hard games are only hard because the AI has superhuman aim speed/accuracy/reaction time. Playing Call of Duty on Veteran difficulty gets annoying when the AI constantly shoots you three times in the chest from 100 yards away the instant you walk around the corner. Try playing Black Ops Combat Training on Veteran, and watch the killcam.

Super Meat Boy is the hardest game I've played in a long time. I remember Dead Space being pretty Difficult on the hardest difficulty as well because I didn't use NG+.

Demon's Souls for the PS3 is a really tough and really good game. There are parts in the earlier levels that are close to impossible to beat your first time through.....you have to die a few times to learn the enemies tricks. Plus if you don't use the unique online play for that game for some of the boss fights they will make you break controllers and quit the game. I knew how to level my guy so the second half of the game was easier, but if you don't follow a leveling guide or have an idea of what you are doing then the whole game is going to be really tough.

Oddly, Demon's Souls and Dead Space are the two games I have sunk the most hours into recently besides RDR. Meat Boy is the only Xbox Live game I have spent enough time to 100%. Actually its the only game I've ever got 100% on. If you can get 100% on Super Meat Boy then you have really done something. I would venture to say about 75% of gamers can't handle Super Meat Boy's difficulty enough to beat the Dark World....maybe more.

Well try beating it without dying every 3rd puzzle haha, I mean not even in Super Meat Boy(so far) have I died this much.

I second the Ninja Gaiden II.

I know people complain about games not being as challenging as they were years ago, but I think a lot of it is that games don't use as cheap of methods to increase the difficulty.
